clown!!!

Hello!
Bloomin' awful weather here! hope it's not too bad where you are today!
This layout was done for the C4E August crop kit. It is called "Clown" and is of my nephew, Lawson. The photo was taken by my sister at one of my wedding dress fittings in 2007. I loved the way she captured the mischief in his eyes!! Lawson is a little comedian and is always making us laugh, he is a curious child who likes to know how things work, much to the dismay of his parents sometimes when he starts taking things apart!! lol

The PP is Dream Street Birdie bits. An older collection but so yummy! We still have a few sheet in stock HERE. The CS is Bazzill, the letter tiles are from stash, they are from HOTP boys to men busy scrappers book of papers and embellishments. I have had these in my stash for years and not got round to using them much. Buttons, beads and threads from stash.
For this hand stitched swirl I used Bazzill In-Stitch template surprise party. So easy to use and gives you perfect results.

The letter tiles I cut out, inked and attached tucking the corners under the stitching.

This embellishment hides the date printed on the photo, although I don't like having the date on the photo it is handy when doing a layout!!! I cut 2 circles of PP one slightly smaller than the other, crumpled and sanded the edges, layered and finished by sewing a button on.

There is a lot of stitching on this layout, when I first saw the PP I wanted to get my sewing kit out!! The buttons and beads were sewn onto the LO rather than attaching with adhesive.
I kept the whole LO quite simple, not as cluttered and embellished as my recent ones. Even though the PP is pink I think it works for this photo of our little family clown!
The Project sheet for this layout will be available to download from the C4E website soon, as well as a few others.
Thanks for stopping by enjoy your day!

The beginning

The beginning was made for my nan to give to my uncle and aunt for their wedding anniversary. This is the first time I've made a lo and given it away!
I have used the same techniques as the previous 2 lo (told you you would see a few of them!! lol)
The PP is K&co from stash, fancy pants summer soiree and bazzill cs. Ribbon, lace and roses also from stash.

This time I added the antenna back to the butterflies, well she did complain that we cut them off!! lol I used the flower stems along with the layered torn paper flowers, paper roses and fond branch leaves (again!) to create the collage effect embellishments. I cut words from a sheet of K&co for the title and some extra words within the flowers, these I created a bridge effect by only attaching the ends.
I struggled with a title for this until I saw the beginning on the word sheet. Bit of a cop out but it rings true for this couple as it was the beginning for them. They are one of those couples who did everything the "right" way, got married, ought a house to move in to after the honeymoon, had children, climbed the property ladder etc.

While i was finishing this lO off my mum came over to finish her crop LO to give to nan as a gift. She got a bit fed up with all the flowers so I lent her a hand to finish off.
Both Nan and my aunt and uncle were pleased with the LO's from mum and I so it was a job well done. Not sure I liked giving it away tho!! lol!!

I guess I should finish off the other lo's now! and do some new ones. There are always lo's waiting to be done here! lol
Thanks for stopping by take care!

Carousel

This is the 2nd LO to share. I started this lo at the c4e july crop last month. Because I had already done the crop lo i used the same techniques to make this one. I printed this photo quite a while ago and started the lo without success, so put it to one side until now. I have used some daisy bucket papers, still available in the c4e store, and the gorgeous lakeside bazzill cs.
The photo is of my youngest son (Alixander) having his first ride on a carousel. I'm sure he had a ride with clive before this!! Anyway, he cried the whole way round! When the ride stopped, he stopped crying and I got this photo. It was taken last year at clarks village, street.

I couldn't complete the title at the crop as I knew I had this carnival font on the computer and wanted to use it. I printed out the letters with only the outline so that I could colour them myself. Each letter is cut out and attached using sticky fixers.

The journaling tag is one of my designs, these were in the April kit. They are a digi stamp and are quite versitile, great for cards, lo's and mini books! The edge is coloured lightly with pencil.
Across the bottom of the photo is a piece of lace and 2 ribbons, the top ribbon was twisted to add some texture and depth.

The flowers were handmade by drawing around a chipboard flower and tearing them out instead of cutting. A little inking, layered and finished with a button. The leaves are MS fond branch punch (again!!)
Lots of tearing and distressing again!! I was really pleased with the finished lo and so glad I waited to do it!!
One more LO to share lol! back soon! thanks for stopping by!

daddy love

This is the first of 3 LO's I have to share. Daddy love was made for a UKS weekly challenge and for the C4E July crop kit, which has sold out!!!
The PP is from the C4E July kit available HERE The 2 papers used are the blue swirl and wild garden from K&co's wild saffron collection. The CS is Bazzill cheddar and lakeshore. I love the colour of lakeshore. There is a lot to see on this LO and it didn't take as long as it looks! Especially for a slow scrapper like me! I must be speeding up though to get so many done in a short time, do need to get quicker there is just so much to scrap and so many gorgeous products to play with!! lol!!
The photo is of my sister and dad, the only thing I know about the photo is that it was taken by my mum, who was a keen photographer when we were kids, now she is getting the scrapping bug!! lol

For the title I used the MME rub-ons from the july kit. Cut them out to make little alpha tiles matt onto some cs, inked and added to the lo with sticky fixers.

Part of the challenge requirements was to use pearls I used a selection of pearl effect beads and pearl paint to add detail to the PP. The flowers were stamped onto PP and cs using the stamp from the july kit and the one in the crop kit. The large flower has several layers to it which makes it perfect for creating dimensional flowers like this.

The main techniques focused on were the flowers and the tearing/distressing. The PP was layered and gutted to create this vintage feel. the edges were torn, rolled and inked. The butterfly was another autumn leaves stamp (a few will be available in the store shortly) My nan was at the crop with us and kept telling us off for cutting off the antenna!! lol It wasn't until I made the 3rd LO that I found some flower stems my mum had given me that are perfect for the antenna! If I remember I'll go back and add them in!

There were a ton of flowers made for this lo I used a mix of sizes, PP and cs to put them together. I layered them using PVA and added beads and pearl paint to the centres. The butterflies were treated to a little inking and pearl paint. The leaves were made with the MS punch fond branch, I now have a little pot full of these cute leaves! The flowers, leaves and butterflies were added in a collage style and gives the lo lots of depth, texture and interest.
I loved doing this LO, I have had it in mind since the kit was chosen in june! I loved the technique and you will be seeing more of this style from me! lol
The Project instructions for this LO is in the C4E library, you can download it from HERE
Thank-you for stopping by I hope that this lo has given you some inspiration, and want to try out the technique let me know if you do and share your lo's in the c4e gallery.
Take care

c4e july mini book challenge

The c4e July mini book challenge was to make mini books with a friendship theme. I know it's now august and I should be posting the august challenge makes but I am way behind!!
I made this little quote book for my lovely friend and UKS team leader pink. It was her birthday at the start of July and this was a little something I sent to her.
It really is little! lol I had trouble fitting the quotes onto the pages!!

The pages were printed first one side with a digi PP then the 2nd side I printed little digi journal blocks. I hand wrote the quotes to make it more personal. The cover has been glittered! a little PVA glue and some ultra fine glitter. The flowers I made a gizzillon yrs ago! I punched flowers from vellum used an embossing tool in the centre to lift the petals, layered up 2 flowers and finished with a little glitter glue in the centre! I had a mad day where I made a ton of these flowers so I have a 'little' stash of them in lots of colours!

The pages are joined together with a little jump ring and finished with a heart charm that I pinched from my sister's handbag charms!!

If you would like to join in with the August challenges hop over to the craft room HERE
where you can see all the latest c4e monthly challenges...there's prizes too!!!

c4e sketch #43 extra card!

Ok so I made a boo boo!! I made my card for sketch#43 then realised that it wasn't really holiday looking enough, although for me strawberries shout summer holiday! So made another one anyway and this one was given to my nan to give to my aunt and uncle for their anniversary, it matched the LO I made for her to give them, she was happy so not really a big boo boo!! lol
The PP is some K&co from stash, the little tea roses are from stash, they were bought in to do my friends wedding stationary 5 years ago!! Blimey how time flies that means we have been living here for 5 yrs! The wedding stationary was made in my chilly garage, which is now my lovely craft room!
The leaves are punched from CS using the Martha Stewart punch Fond Branch, going to have to get some more!! lol

The image is a beautiful Flower fairy called Strawberry fairy. I have got a couple of these in stock, but not added to the site yet! well I have to test the products to make sure they are good!! lol!! The image is quite small and was a little harder to colour than some others. I have used watercolour pencils.

I have 2 new Beatrice Potter stamps too! so sweet These will be added to the site as soon as I get chance!!
Well that's another project shared I have 3 LO's and a mini book left to share as well as anything else I get made this week! I will catch up...i will...i will.....lol!!!
