spoonful of sugar challenge#27

Firstly I would just like to say Thank-you for the lovely comments that have been left, you are all lovely!!XXXX {{{{hugs}}}!!! I will catch up with everyone over the next couple of days.
My website will launch next week...Yipee!! Should be Monday or Tuesday I will post a special launch offer then. Over the next few days I will be uploading products, projects, information and challenges to the site. This site has been my dream for the last 16 years!! I am so excited...lol!!
on to the challenge.....
This weeks challenge at Spoonful of sugar is a really fab sketch from MichelleO. So good I made 2...lol!!! one for the challenge and one for DH!!
Take a look HERE to see the gorgeous DT cards!

Here is my card for the challenge....

The stamp is an old one, I have had for a few years, I have cut him out and stuck on with sticky fixers, the circle layer and the large square layer are all on sticky fixers it gave it a lovely depth! The papers are again from stash, I am sure it was a 6x6pad I got in a QVC kit a couple of years ago. Probably HOTP! The polar bear is coloured with silver H2O's, he really twinkles, which unfortunately the camera didn't pick up :(

The second card I have for you is using that great tree idea I mentioned before, although it looks very similar to the first one I did use different papers. I will get a lilac one done soon!

There was a lot of inking on this card, I found that my whispers inks, although I was disappointed when I first got them, are great for subtle distressing and background stamping.
I seem to have made a lot of square cards this year so this one is the larger A5 size, nice having more space to work with.

Well that is quite enough from me! I had better check out what other challenges are about and get the website finished.
Thank-you again for the lovely comments
Big....
to you all!!!!
thanks for stopping by

PTW-Dawny's sketch #3

My word it has got cold here...brrrrr!!! How is the Christmas shopping going? A nice man knocked on my door at 7.15AM!! yesterday morning with 4 large boxes for me and mum, it was some of the kids Christmas presents. I didn't realise how big the Thomas train set was going to be!! I don't think Santa will be able to fit it all under the tree this year!!!!lol Still the kids will love it all, and DH can't wait to play with the train set...lol!!! I have ordered them a surprise gift, I probably shouldn't have done it but we have worked hard all year and they will love it!! I will have to work really hard getting some sales on the website! My website is almost done now I am uploading the products at the moment, a slight technical hitch yesterday when all the products appeared in the pattern paper section!!! But the web guy is looking at it hopefully today!
This weeks PTW challenge is another fab sketch from Dawny look HERE to see the sketch and the gorgeous DT cards.
I have turned the sketch around because I wanted to tie the ribbon around the image but didn't want it going across Tilda's feet! I think it worked out ok! This was a nice sketch to work with, I am going to use this one again!! The PP is all free digi papers, from the Monkey love kit (link on sidebar) I have stamped it lightly with a stamp from Dovecraft's Fantasy set, and silver ink.
Tilda is coloured with H2O's and whispers pens. The greeting is printed from the computer. The ribbon is left over from my wedding! And all in my favourite colour too!!!lol
Well I am off to photograph kits and upload them to the site! have a good day.
Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs

SSC#26 & C4E

Lots of shopping done yesterday, off to collect some more today! Most of the important stuff has been ordered, I love the Internet, no cold, rain, no cross people pushing and shoving...bliss!!! lol. I still have to go in to town but just for the little bits.
This card doubles up for...
Sketch Saturday....fab sketch this week, I think I will use this again, I will add it to the file...when I make it...lol!!!! Check out the challenge and fab DT cards HERE
and...
C4E....My challenge is "Christmas trees" you can see the challenge HERE
No DT cards to see only mine! Unfortunately no DT yet, if you'd like to join the team please email me, I could do with a little help as the C4E site is almost ready to go live!!

The Christmas tree is made from layers of folded strips of paper. I saw this in "scrapbook Inspirations issue 47. There is a gorgeous LO on page 63 by Beckie Dreyer, using this technique. I liked the effect of this, I think I might try it in lilac and pink!!

The star at the top of the tree is gold, I wanted to age it a bit so I used a nail file to sand it then inked it with brown stazon. The papers are from stash...no still haven't bought any new stash!! If I manage to stick to it I shall have to buy some new stash in the new year as a reward!!!
Time to fly...well drive...over to Argos to get the reserved gifts, might pop into Matalan and Asda too, pick up the Turkey!!
Thanks for stopping by

Friday sketchers challenge

This weeks Friday Sketch is from Beatrix. The sketch is great, I liked using this sketch!!! There are some fab cards from the DT as well take a look HERE to see Beatrix's fab sketch and the DT cards!
I am still on my "no new Christmas stash" challenge so all the materials are from my stash!! The papers are a free digi download from last Christmas, the image I drew myself and coloured with H2O's. There is lots of glitter glue on this card too!!! The Chip letters are embossed with Hologram super sparkle! why? funny story...lol!! I didn't have a white 's' so I sanded a lime green one and covered with embossing powder! Whilst holding the letters down with my tweezers, to heat them I managed to get ink and powder on the tweezers add the heat and I've embossed my tweezers!!!!lol Luckily I got them clean again!!
Anyway enough chat I have Christmas shopping to do! Here is the card....

...and a couple of close ups too!!
Thanks for stopping by, I will be back tomorrow with the C4E challenge card and the Saturday sketch card, I think I will do one card to fit both so I can do more shopping...lol!!!!

spoonful of sugar challenge

This weeks Spoonful of sugar challenge is "Blooming Marvellous" Check out the fabulous DT cards HERE

I needed an anniversary card for my SIL this week and it made a nice change to make a non-Christmas card! Not that I have made enough yet!!! The card was made with a Raspberry Road free digi kit - Faded Memories.

This was one of those cards that just fell together nicely, it was quick too! The flower was one I made a few months back for a project download for C4E , you can find it HERE

I have set up a little "studio" to take photo's in, just a large hinged board and a big white sheet, oh and mum's daylight lamp, think it may have done the trick. I turned off the main lights too which seems to have helped! Problem is the cats rather liked it....

This is Suki our youngest cat, she is about 5mths old!

Time to be off!! Cards to make pressies to order...lol!!!

PTW- LET IT SNOW!!

Thank-you for all the lovely comments you left! Very kind!
The challenge this week at PTW is LET IT SNOW!! Check out the stunning DT cards HERE
They really are gorgeous!!
I am not sure my mojo has completely returned yet! My first attempt was a bit of a flop...lol!! I tried to stamp directly on to textured card...DuH!!! so of course it wasn't going to take the whole image especially as there was a lot of inked space on it! but I am sharing it !! Warts an' all!!!!

I don't usually do cards this plain. My second attempt was better. Lots of pattern paper!!!

Sorry about the photos the light here is still very poor and I am still trying to find a way to take better photos! It really does look better in real life. I painted the image with silver H2O's to add sparkle to the snow, which has not shown up in the photo.
That's it from me back again soon with spoonful of sugar challenge.
Thanks for stopping by

sketch saturday & simply fairies

OK....deep breadth!!!.... here are the cards that gave me so much trouble. I am still not 100% happy with them, they could have done with some better embellishments but I have to use what I've got and Christmas ribbons and embellishments are sadly lacking from my stash!! (sigh) never mind!
The first card is for Simply Fairies Friday sketch challenge. A nice simple sketch. you can find it HERE

The second card is for the Sketch Saturday challenge. There is a great sketch HERE

I think the camera agrees that these cards are not great the last one is a little blurry...lol!!
The sketches where great, it was the materials and mojo that misbehaved...lol!!
Well they can only get better...hopefully....lol!!!!
Thanks for stopping by, don't forget there is still time to have a go at the C4E Snowman challenge HERE
bye for now!

Friday sketchers challenge

Wow this card took a while to complete! I really think my mojo is on a pre -Christmas holiday...lol!! not the best time to leave!
This is a new challenge for me and what a sketch to start with! Mumur posted this weeks sketch, thank-you Mumur! You can find the challenge HERE you should really check out the DT cards they are FAB!!!
Pretty snow flurry Tilda is the star of this card. All materials are from stash, not doing too bad with that challenge I haven't bought any new Christmas stash!.....yet...lol!!!!
Tilda is coloured with H2O's and watercolours.

I had to prove that this sketch wasn't as hard as I made it so I made a second card with it for the C4E and CCT challenges (see below) The second card came together much quicker! I still have to complete the cards from the weekend and post them, I am off to do that now!

C4E and Cute card Thursday

You ever have one of "those" weekends? It has taken 2 days to get 2 cards right? What is going on there? I struggled to get them right and nearly thew them out the window!!! But they are drying now (glitter glue!) and I will post them hopefully tomorrow. I am still not 100% happy with them but time is short and there are lots more to make and the dreaded ironing is waiting for me tonight, maybe a break will do the trick?
So what have I got for you today? The C4E this week is SNOWMEN!! I just love all the cute characters about at Christmas, snowmen, penguins, father Christmas, polar bears. Hat off the the talented designers who draw them, so very cute!
I have finally finished my Christmas planning file!! My poor little note book was looking a bit tired so I found an old recipe file in the kitchen and covered it with some paper and a cute snowman. The papers are from a DCWV value pack form about 2yrs ago, I didn't really like most of the papers and was disappointed with them, but these papers worked just fine! I made some dividers (a little too small, but don't tell anyone...lol!!) and there you go a folder to use every year.

This card was done for this week Kim Fee's (simply Fairies) challenge last week. It has doubled up for the C4E Snowman challenge too! The snowman is one I drew for a stamp design about 3 years ago.

Cute Card Thursday's Challenge this week is RED & GREEN. This is the first time I have tried this challenge. You can find the challenge HERE
This card has also doubled up for the C4E challenge ....and.... I used the sketch from Friday sketchers too! So a triple challenge card!!

Oh dear the ironing is waiting so I had best be off!!!
Have fun
Thanks for stopping by!

The Tilda and friends ATC challenge this week is....BLING!!!!
I have used beautiful Snow flurry Tilda, painted with watercolours and twinkling H2O's. The star gems were free with a magazine an age ago! So here is my Bling Tilda ATC!!!

Thanks for looking
Michele xx
p.s don't forget the C4E challenge here !!

Kim fee challenge

Kim has started a weekly sketch challenge on her blog here.
The first sketch is fab!! I had fun with the sketch, the papers however did not want to co-operate!!! got all squiffy...lol!! Hopefully you can't tell that much!!!
I have turned the sketch sideways so I could use this little snowman. I drew him about 3 years ago, my attempt at stamp design then...lol! I pulled him out again and coloured him with watercolours and H2O's. All materials are from stash! Amazing how much Christmas stash I have found to use...lol!!

I still can't get the lighting right here, maybe some tinfoil and another lamp? Where has the sun gone? Rain clouds are no good for photos...lol!!
Don't forget that my challenge is still running HERE It would be lovely if you joined in!!
Thanks for looking

I liked this sketch, I can see a few more cards being made with it!!
As I said before I am using only materials from my stash and freebies this year, my personal challenge!!! boy is it hard not to buy more!!!
There is some glitter glue on this card, unfortunately I am struggling to get good photos at the moment, even with a second lamp!
I am off to do my Christmas file, another Christmas project! Maybe I should list them on my sidebar and see how quickly I can get them done?...LOL!!!!

C4E~Christmas Tag challenge

Well another week has just flown by and it is time for the C4E challenge! This weeks Challenge is to make Christmas Tags! See HERE for the challenge.
I had a fab afternoon playing with this challenge. I used up scraps of card and paper to make loads of tags, I just couldn't stop...lol!! Tea was a bit late Sunday night!! Whoops!!
The cute little penguin was copied from a Crafters Companion disc I got free in one of the magazines. My printer just didn't like printing them out nice so I traced them and coloured with water colour paints and H2O's. I think these will be featuring on a lot of my Christmas cards this year. i have given myself the challenge of not buying any new Christmas stash this year. I can only use what I have!! So hard when I have just seen the new Magnolia Christmas stamps at Glitter Pot...lol!!!
So here they are all materials are from stash!!

And of course Tilda, I did buy one new stamp this year but that was before I sat the challenge!! It was my Birthday...lol!!!!
I think there will be a lot of lilac and pink too!!!
Don't forget to check out the challenge!!
Thanks for looking
Michele xx
