c4e sketch #38

Hello!!
Sunday has arrived and the new C4E sketch is posted.! This week we are looking for some "BLING" on your cards!! Check out the sketch and gorgeous DT cards HERE.
I had a tough time with this one because my DS2 has shared his throat infection with me! He has had tonsillitis, but as mine were whipped out years ago I just get a sore throat. Bless him so sweet and generous to share with mummy!! LOL!!!
The card!!.....lol!..... I have used a mix of Basic grey papers, lace and ribbon from stash, feather and gems from stash. The pearl branch is left over from our wedding.
The image is a c4e digi stamp which will be released next Sunday ,and will be given away with 3 others, as a prize on both the c4e blog and Sunday sketch&stamp blog. This one is called "butterfly kisses" I drew it a while ago but haven't released it till now. I've used water colour paints to colour the image and cut it out with my new labels 3 nesties. Before taking the die off the card I ran an embossing tool around the edge.

This is a really quick image to colour!! A blessing when you have a mountain of cards to make!! lol!

I have housework to do before my sister gets here to talk about my nephews birthday next weekend so I'll hop off!! (sorry)
Thanks for stopping by

Father's day tag album

Good Morning!!
Yesterday I booked a new venue for the C4E crop!! In the last couple of months we have had so many new ladies join us that we have out grown my little craft room!! So now we will be at the Banwell Village Hall, somerset from 10am-5pm!! Oh so much scrapping time! It is too long to wait...26th July...but I have a lot of prep to do! If you fancy joining us give me a shout and I'll put the kettle on!! LOL!!
Right onto the Mini Tag album!!
I asked DS1 to tell me what he loves about his daddy, these comments I typed onto the computer and printed onto CS.
I Cut out 5 tag shapes from 1 sheet of bazzill CS added faux stitching around the edges on both sides, and a strip of PP (dream street, birdie bits) before attaching to the tags I lightly sanded the edges.

I added photos and the printed comments, finished off with a few buttons. The acetate tags I made by drawing around my tag template adding some faux stitches and a heart detail to the bottom. I scanned them into the computer, used PSP to tidy-up and resize and printed onto inkjet acetate.

Once I got all the parts together it was quite quick to put together! I think I'll do a few more of these!

I'm off to add it to the C4E June Mini Book challenge gallery...ummm bit late whoops!! lol

Father's day card

For Father's day I drew a new digi stamp to use on DH's card. I wanted a fun frog in honor of my dad who loved frogs, I have no idea why...lol!!

I used the sketch from the C4E June crop kit. Slight changes to make it fit and so it wasn't too fussy for DH!! I think the sketch works well for cards too!

The PP is basic grey, CS is Bazzill, buttons from stash and printed greeting. I was hoping my new nesties would arrive in time for this card but they didn't so I used a printed digi journal shape as a template for the image.

The image is coloured with watercolour paints.

This digi stamp along with 3 others will be released on the 5th July. You can get your hands on free sets from the Sunday sketch & stamp challenge blog and C4E challenge blog from that date.
I'll be back tomorrow with a tag album I made for Father's day!
Thanks for stopping by!

c4e sketch#37

Time for the c4e sketch challenge again, where does the week go? lol!
Hope you are all spoiling those wonderful dads today!! I will be visiting the cemetery to take some flowers to mine and we will visit DH dad later (probably after the F1 race lol!!) My boys have a few surprise gifts for their dad today, Alix has already given daddy his card he made at pre-school, so sweet bless him!
Check out the challenge and Talented DT cards HERE!!!
My card this week was made for my BIL and features a new c4e digi stamp I am playing with! The PP is Fancy Pants Summer soiree, actually it's the reverse of the journal cards!! lol! Ribbon is Fancy Pants summer soiree buttons from stash CS is Bazzill.

The image is coloured with pencils with some water blending to soften. Background is watercolour paints. I have written the "happy Birthday" greeting on as the digi stamp has a blank flag so that it can be made to fit any occasion.
Thanks for stopping by !

mother of the bride

Another UKS challenge LO, I'm doing much better this month earning points for the team!!
This LO has got to be the quickest one I've done yet, just a couple of hours!!
It's another LO for the wedding album, YAY!! getting them done, I'm loving doing the wedding LO's!! This one is Mother of the bride, my mum! She also gave me away too. She looked absolutely stunning in her full length lilac dress. This photo was taken by my sister and caught a perfect smile as she held my nephew Harvey. I've cropped him out for this LO, sorry H!!

PP is MME 29th street market, The feather, rose and pearl branch are embellishments I saved from the wedding. The Title was printed onto acetate and I used a Bazzill in-stitch template for the hand sewn swirls.

Had to do this close below because one of the elements for the challenge was to use yellow so to get the points I added a little yellow bead!!

That's another UKS challenge complete looking forward to the next one on Monday!
Have a lovely day thanks for stopping by!

c4e june crop

I just had to share these LO's the girls did at the C4E crop on Sunday!!
The crop kit and LO the girls were given is this first LO called "Lilian" The LO is about my eldest son meeting his great great auntie Lil'. Sadly she passed away a year later, I only met her the once but she was a lovely lady and so welcoming.
The kit contained 2 sheets of PP from crate papers Lilian collection, 2 sheets of bazzill CS, ribbon , glitter diecuts from crate papers lilian collection and instructions.

Melissa cut out her own leaves to make a journaling flower and did some serious distressing to the CS to complete this gorgeous LO!!

Melanie used some tiny buttons from her kit and added doodling to complete this gorgeous LO.

Margaret added some very clever hand cut leaves embossing the veins with her fingernail to complete this gorgeous LO!

Jean wanted to continue with her current album, scrapping family letters and chose to just follow the sketch to complete this gorgeous LO!

For some of the girls this was the first (but not last!!) time they have used a sketch!
Nice one girls you did a fantastic job!!!
Thanks for stopping by

beach feet!!

Last month we went to Lyme Regis for the day, It took most of the day to get there as we started out late and I went the wrong way loosing my mum!!lol!! But when we got there we headed straight for the beach, got the kids into swim shorts, and settled ourselves onto the beach. I was over-dressed in my jeans and hadn't expected the glorious sunshine we got but....
I did have my camera!! Somewhere on my travels I read/saw something about taking photos of feet! I thought this was a fab idea and started snapping pics of every ones feet, the kids were not happy to stop mid-walk so I could take a photo, but they humoured their mum! lol The rest of the family thought I was nuts!! I'm just artistic!!!LOL
So here is the resulting LO!! I made this LO for a UKS challenge using the sketch for the challenge, which was a Page Maps sketch.
The PP is a Summer Soiree kit from the C4E store HERE. Chip alpha is from a QVC kit. I tried out a new stitch on this LO chain stitch, I wasn't sure if it would work on card as well as it works on fabric, but it did and I am glad I tried!!
There a few techniques used on this LO, distressing, sewing and doodling. The embellishment below is one I have seen used on a lot of LO's recently, ummmm might try it on the next card I do???!!!!LOL!! The shell is a real shell, picked up from a Cornish beach. I looked for shells at Lyme Regis but only found them in the shops! I did buy some for the kits though!!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!!

c4e june abc & atc challenges

Thank-you for the lovely comments about the family planner!
I have 2 ATC's to share today. Both are for the C4E monthly website challenges which are HERE
This month there are a few prizes up for grabs so do check them out if you have time.
The first ATC is for the ABC challenge. Over the last few months i have been making a set of alphabet ATC's for this challenge, I should do numbers too! lol!
I went a bit mad with the sandpaper again for this one, it was made at the same time as my DAD card for the c4e weekly sketch challenge so I used up the scraps for both the ATC's. The PP is WRM as is the letter E. Paper blooms,CS and big brad from Bazzill.
The second ATC is for the ATC challenge, this months theme is Dads. The PP are WRM, paper bloom,CS and brad are Bazzill. The Heart shape is from the set of digital stamps that go with the c4e April kit.

That's all from me for today back soon with a few LO's I've done.
Thanks for stopping by

c4e june kit project

When I saw the C4E June kit I immediately thought it was perfect for this Family planner that I had been thinking of doing. You can still get the June kit, Home Bird HERE.
The planner basically consists of 2 single layouts, a back cover and a lot of printed planner sheets, all bound together with a BIA. I used a Microsoft works spreadsheet to create a weekly planning sheet that suited out family.
Extra materials needed in addition to the kit are: 12x12 chipboard sheets, white cardstock, sewing threads, beads, pegs and BIA wire.

I have used the same 4 photographs on both the outside cover and the inside LO. The title was printed, then pierced holes and sewed using back stitch. Using the Bracket shaped paper in the kit I made a template to use on the front cover so they would match. I have sewn around the edge of the bracket shape using zig-zag stitch (by hand!).

Inside the planner is the second LO which will be on display. I have hand stitched (back stitch) around the edge of the bracket PP and the tree design, adding the occasional bead in.

I printed about 50 weekly planner sheets to include. I am hoping that when they run out I will be able to open the wires and add some more!

At the bottom I added 2 pegs with diecut shapes on, to hold little notes and letters. They are attached with superglue so should stay put!! lol

The final result is a unique family planner, made to suit our family needs!! It's kind of tucked away by a cupboard, but that is where my "command centre" is in the kitchen!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

c4e sketch#36

This week on the C4E challenge blog we are asking you to make Father's Day cards with our sketch.
I went a bit distressing mad. It's all Sarah's fault!! LOL. Fellow DT team mate Sarah got a new Tim Holtz distressing tool recently which has inspired me to attack my projects with sandpaper!! LOL!!

The PP is WRM urban window, the monograms are from the same collection. The ribbon is the reverse of the ribbon from that collection too! Ric rack is Bazzill as are the paper blooms, big brad and CS. I used an old white inkpad for the edges, which is totally messed up now and not much good for anything!

With some of the scraps I made 2 ATC's which I will share next time!
Do check out the challenge and the gorgeous DT cards!!! clicky HERE!!!!!
Have a great Sunday!
I'm off to get ready for the C4E crop later today!
