crafts 4 eternity recipe challenge #18

Hello everyone!
Time for another Crafts 4 eternity recipe challenge.
This week we are looking for projects that follow this recipe....
1.use the sketch
2. add something clear
3. use an inking technique
I could have sworn I added something clear!!! Oh dear!! I did add a number 3 embellishment after taking the photo, my head is just not with it! lol!!

I did however use distress inks to colour the image which is a Dustin Pike freebie image from his blog.
I am not sure what I was thinking when I coloured the cake yellow???? It should have been a chocolate cake really! lol! and I got a little heavy handed with the ink around the edge!

Hop over to the c4e blog HERE and take a look at the DT girls work (much better examples!!)
Apologies for the mess in my sidebar, I've been playing with blog templates! After 2 days of changing in and keeping widgets from each one I ended up with a mess so I am back to the old template for now and will have another bash soon!
Thanks for stopping by take care

Together

Together is the layout we did at the January crafts 4 eternity crop!

and here's how!!
You will need:
K&co Verbena papers purple swirl and golden flower & ornaments. Get them HERE
bazzill cardstock white, lavender & palm. get them here Palm white lavender
glossy accents, brads, ink pads, chipboard swirl, AC Thickers, border punch, photo 13.5cm x 17.5cm. Usual tools and adhesives.

1. Measure and cut a 9"x9" piece of the purple swirls paper. Cut 2 strips of Palm CS 1.5"x9", punch a border along one long edge. (I've used Martha Stewart doily punch). Attach the strips to two opposite sides (top & bottom). Attach to the white CS slightly off centre towards the right.

2. Mat your photo on the lavender CS. Cut a strip of Palm CS to fit down the right hand edge (4cm x 13.5cm). Punch with the same border punch and attach to the LO slightly off centre to the right.

3. Take the golden flower & ornaments PP and cut out sections of the pattern. Start with a large piece for the base of the embellishment. When you have a selection of pieces arrange them on your LO until you are happy. Attach using sticky fixers.

Attach brads and additional layers as you go. The trick is to keep adding pieces until you are happy. You can also add ribbon, curled paper, wire etc.

Add glossy accent dots for extra dimension.

Add a second flower on top of another to make them 'pop'. Slightly offset it and use sticky fixers to lift it up.
pinch the tips of petals and add extra flat back gems.

Using a sponge add distress inks onto the chipboard swirl to colour it. you could finish it off with glitter or glossy accents.

4. To complete the LO add your title I have used lavender glitter chipboard AC Thickers.

This technique will work with lots of similar style papers. It will also work with chipboard elements and die cut elements.

You can download a PDF version of this project from the crafts 4 eternity craft room HERE

Pose for me!!

Hello!
I Thought I'd share this little layout with you! I started it at the November crop, did a bit more at the December crop and finally finished it last week!! lol!! It has to be the longest I have spent trying to complete a lo!!!
The photos are of me when I was about 2 years old. Mum said she got the camera out, lifted me onto the table and said "pose for me" LOL!! She then said that the table was glass!!!
PP & CS are from the C4E July kit available HERE The flowers are from the October Kit available HERE

I took inspiration from a class from the UKS Wicked cyber crop in November. It was MJM's class called The Lollipop Guild, which you can find
HERE

I did a lot of distressing on this LO and lots of hand stitching too!

I may get round to doing some of the other fab classes from the cyber crop one day! lol! Hopefully they won't take so long to complete! lol!
Thanks for stopping by, take care!

Today is C4E Recipe challenge day!! We have posted a new recipe on the C4E Blog for you, Hop over and check out the talented design team gallery and challenge!!
I decided to do a layout for this weeks challenge! As one of the ingredients of the recipe is to include a dog or dogs it had to be about my little Charlie. I have 2 dogs, Sapphire a lovely black Labrador and Charlie a noisy Papillon. It's been quite hard to get a decent photo of Sapphire, bless her she keeps moving!! lol!

The C4E store re-opens tomorrow and we will be starting our sale soon!!

crafts 4 eternity recipe challenge #14

Hello!!
Hope you all had a wonderful time bringing in the New Year! We were all at mum's this year and were totally confused about the strange lights floating in the sky! We went out at midnight to watch the fireworks and saw these glowing shapes floating across the sky...when one eventually passed over us we realised they were lanterns!! This is something new to our neck of the woods lol! It would have been lovely to have have a few for the kids to send up,but we didn't see any to buy. Hope they were eco-friendly!! lol! there were lots of them floating out towards the Bristol channel!
The first C4E recipe of 2010 has been posted this morning. This weeks prize is a goody bag and chance to be guest designer for February! Hop over to the C4E Blog to see the challenge and gorgeous DT cards.
My card was made for my niece's birthday which was New Years day! She was born 01/01/01!!! can't believe she's 10!
The PP are k&co and basic grey. The image is one of the lovely Tilda's from the Magnolia winter club kit. To be honest I was a bit disappointed with the kit, probably because I was expecting xmas stamps lol! but this image is so sweet and perfect for any occasion. Need to get the others inked up and have a play!

I have coloured Tilda with H20's and pencils.
I am doing a colouring techniques class at the C4E crop this month so I am ordering some Distress inks to try. I love some Copics this year I'll have to start a Copic's saving fund lol!!

Lastly I made a quick notebook for my niece using the same Tilda coloured pink!
Thanks for stopping take care!
