C4E recipe challenge #129 - Spots and Stripes

Good Morning :)
Well it's not a bright sunny morning but it isn't raining which is good lol!
Today there is a new challenge over at Crafts 4 Eternity ....

SPOTS and STRIPES

We would like you to share any project that features both spots and stripes on it.

c4e store tag
Our sponsor this week is Crafts 4 Eternity (me!!)
one randomly selected winner will receive a choice of 3 digital stamps from the current collection.

There is gorgeous inspiration from the DT and we have a DT call running at the moment too!
Lots of reasons to hop over to the C4E challenge blog and join in with our challenge this week!

My card this week is quite simple, I've used strips of DP's from Fancy Pants "The Good Life" collection
and layered them on to some white card.
I stamped a Bo Bunny arrow, which didn't take very well on the raised pieces and added some Stickles to the edges.

The alphas are from My Minds Eye.

I am teaching two classes at the Crafts 4 Eternity crop on Sunday!
There are a few spaces available, if you would like to come along email me at crafts4eternity.aol.co.uk

I'd better get on with the class prep, I'm sure the samples are here somewhere lol!
Thanks for stopping by
Have a great weekend!

You Will!!!

Good Morning!
Well there is still a large hole full of water outside, no workmen and the local kids are loving throwing the lumps of concrete back into it! Wonder what the chances are of workmen showing up today? lol!
We had a lovely afternoon yesterday exploring a local beauty spot, the boys loved running and exploring. As usual for us we sat on wet grass in the wind drinking coffee and eating cake lol! The outing was in aid of my sister and BIL's birthdays so Happy Birthday Guys!!!
I have a layout to share today :)
This layout was the May crop kit layout. The kit is available HERE
The sketch for this layout is this months Mojo sketch which can been seen HERE on the C4E cafe blog or HERE on the C4E website

The story behind this photo is that my mum and aunt joked many years ago that they would ensure that I got married even if they had to "help" me get there lol! When we got married I asked the photographer to stage this photo for us, we were not supposed to be smiling lol!
I am in the process of designing some new journaling products for the C4E Store, part of the collection is these fun Pennant flags. I haven't decided if I will release them as digi's yet but they will be available soon in packs of 6. What do you think?
Time for a coffee break lol!
Thanks for stopping by have fun!

New Job

 Hello everyone :)
In between the showers yesterday the boys managed a quick trip to the park, while they were out I managed to burn boiled potatoes!! I was being really organized and got them on early for roasting, left them to boil and went to upload some new goodies onto the C4E Store.
Next thing I know there's smoke everywhere and the boys walk in with a bar of chocolate for me lol!
We didn't get roast potatoes for tea :(  My usual trick is to not switch on the cooker lol!

This layout was for the April crop, the kits are available HERE.
If you would like the sketch for this layout it is HERE on the C4E Cafe blog for Mays Mojo sketch!
The creativity prompt for April was to scrap about Change, my layout is about DH's new job and the changes it will bring to our family.
I don't usually do much journaling on the front of my pages so most of the story will be on the back of the page with a few key points on the front.

The butterfly is quite symbolic of change and fitting for a layout about moving from one stage in our lives to another.
The buttons on the layout are handmade from clay and inked with Distress inks. I have a whole pot of these clay buttons ready for colouring when I need them now :)
DH is home this week as he has a dentist appointment tomorrow wisdom tooth extraction eek!! It will be nice to have him home in the evenings, maybe he can get the Elves to go to bed on time lol!
Don't forget to enter this weeks Recipe challenge and there are more new goodies on the C4E store!
Have a great day thanks for stopping by

Wish me luck

Hello :)
I found another post lurking in the draft section lol!
This layout was the second kit layout for the January C4E crop! There were enough goodies in the kit to make two layouts.

The crop creativity prompt was New beginnings. I have scrapped about trying again to focus on my one word - Organize! This is still a work in progress lol! But I still have 8 months left of the year ;)

Love this quote! It kind of excuses your failures and makes you feel better that you have failed.

I tried to add some lucky charms to the layout in the hope that I will succeed this year.
I still have a couple of these kits available HERE
Thanks for stopping by
have a great day!

Mr and Mrs

Hello :)
How has your bank Holiday been? we have had a quiet family weekend just enjoying being together after DH being away and Mikael's camp trip last week. Nice to be together :)
I found a couple of draft posts lurking in blogger lol! This layout is from the January C4E Crop!
I still have a few of these kits available HERE either as a single layout kit or double layout kit.
The Best Creation papers in this kit are just stunning glittered and glossed it was hard to cut into these!

The photo is from my wedding in 2007! I am still working my way through the wedding photos. I prefer to scrap what I feel like at the time rather than sticking to completing an album.
The gorgeous flowers have silver Paint on the edges. I do love my Paint Dabbers lol!
Trickiest part of this layout is the cutting out, but worth the effort.

I have added a few flat back gems and of course generous helpings of Stickles :)
Thanks for stopping by
Have a great day!

C4E Recipe #15 - technique / theme

Hello everyone :)
Happy Easter!
Wow this week has just flown by! I haven't got much done at all this week with the boys home and DH away.
We have a new recipe for you to follow on the the C4E challenge blog. This week we would like you to make your own buttons! I have had a lot of fun making buttons for last weeks crop workshop. My favourites have to be the Clay ones. If you would like a couple of ideas for making your own buttons visit the C4E Cafe Blog HERE

My project this week is a layout about DH's New Job. This was also the crop layout, there are a few kits left and will be uploaded to the C4E website soon.

I have layered lots of ribbon, shapes and trim around the layout, with a few words about my feelings about this big change in our lives.

The button is made from Air dry clay and coloured with Distress ink to match the layout. One of the great things about making your own buttons is that you can match them perfectly to your project.

I love the uniqueness of handmade buttons each one is different and they retain the handmade quality of the project. They are not perfect just like my work lol!
The DT girls have some gorgeous examples for you as always please do check out their blogs for more button ideas.
Have a fabulous weekend of sunshine and blessing :)

C4E R#12 - Technique/Theme Recipe

Hello everyone :)
Thank-you for the well wishes for the boys they are all better now and back to their normal naughty selves (hubby too!)
I am actually on time this week YAY! I am trying out some new methods to get organized at the moment I quite like this one at the start of the week you list everything you would like to get done in the week, then each day choose 5 things from the list to do. When they are done you add more one at a time.
My One Word for 2011 is organize, I failed miserably with it last year lol! so I'm trying again this year.
Anyway enough of that waffle! It's Friday and time for a new C4E Recipe. This week we would like you to include something hidden on your projects.
At the March C4E crop I taught several methods of Hidden journaling (including the pocket below) and included a simple hidden element to the crop kit layout.

Behind the photo is space to add lots of journaling and extra photos.

I bought some Perfect Pearls Mists to try and love them! This layout has a gorgeous shimmer, sorry it was really hard to capture it :(
The kit includes a length of vintage seam binding which I inked with Alcohol inks and blending solution. When it was dry I made the little flower below.

I used an Xcut punch for the leaves,  I love the shape of these leaves but the punch is terrible you have to get the leaves out with a pin which rips them. I am going to have to find a new one.
The velvet trim is from my stash and not included in the kit :(
I surprised myself with the sewing lol! it actually turned out neat lol!
Want some more inspiration? check out the fabulous C4E DT gallery!!
Have a great weekend!

Cupcakes

Hello everyone :)
We have lovely sunshine here today and I have a layout to share with you :)
This layout was the February crop layout and kit. The Kit is available HERE and has beautiful papers from My minds Eye's Stella and Rose collection. I could easily keep these papers all to myself lol!

The Creativity Prompt for February was Loves of your life. I love cupcakes! Baking them, eating them and anything with cupcakes on lol!
I have used one of the new C4E products Vintage Love Tickets along with some gorgeous lace and ribbon.
The text I printed myself, bit time consuming but love the effect.

Hope you are having a fabulous day!

Time Lost

Hello everyone :)
Back again with the second layout from the C4E September crop.
This layout and kit uses the fabulous Crate Restoration collection.

The layout was also completed for a UKS weekly challenge last month. We were asked to scrap about a guilty indulgence. It was nice to scrap about something other than the usual family stuff.
The watch embellishment is from a surprisingly large stash of watches I found in my jewelry box!
I have used Restoration Chipboard accents, Prima e-line crystals and dress makers pins to embellish.
Thanks for stopping by have a great day!

Smile :)

Hello everyone :)
Finally found time to share this layout with you!
This layout was for the C4E September crop and also entered in the UKS House challenge coming 2nd in the final!
Kits are still available HERE
These My Minds Eye papers are gorgeous and needed very little to go with them.

The Flowers are Prima e-line flowers with a ribbon tied cinnamon stick in the center.
I gave the flowers a quick spritz of glimmer mist too :) The leaves are punched using Martha Stewart Fond branch, and the bling is Prima e-line crystals.
Thanks for stopping by have a great day!

Happiness

Hello
How is your Bank holiday weekend going?
I Finally have the second layout from the May crop to share. It was also my entry into the UKS week 3 challenge which we (ScrapHappy) set! This was our first challenge and so much fun!

One of the requirements for the challenge was to scrap about something that makes you happy. After a lot of thinking I decided that seeing my lovely boys happy makes me happy!
The DP is Prima's Pastiche collection, Seaside. I used only one sheet of DP for the lo. The flowers are a mix of Prima Pastiche and paper roses from my stash. The Title is also Prima! Oh and the lace trim lol!
There are a few packs of flowers, a couple of kits and sheets of DP available HERE

The quote I found using Google along with hundreds of other great quotes, I must remember to add them to my file!
Enjoy the rest of the Bank Holiday!
Thanks for stopping by
