c4e sketch #32

This weeks C4E sketch has been posted today. This week we are asking you to use stitching on your cards too! Real or faux, machine or hand whichever you prefer! Hop over HERE to see the sketch and fab DT cards!

This week I made a card and matching notebook. They are for a special little girl whose birthday I missed last week. She was Mikael's girlfriend for a while!!! LOL but he has moved on now to Lexi!!!

I bought the first set of gorjuss girl stamps from a seller on UKS a couple of weeks ago and haven't got round to using them till this week...OMG!!! so gorjuss!!! LOL My friend and fellow DT member sent me some stamped images from the second set too, so jealous I missed the set again!!

I have coloured this gorjuss girl with pencils.

The stitching is all done by hand and yes it has taken forever to complete this set!! lol The sewn frame technique I have used was shared on UKS on a LO. I have done a LO with this technique (may kit LO to be posted!!)

The Chipboard covers are cut from some packaging that came with a pack of paper.
I decorated all 4 sides of the chipboard covers. The PP is K&co from stash, as is the ribbon.
The inside pages are good quality copy paper with various gorjuss images stamped in one corner. I have left them un-coloured so Lauren can colour them herself.
I will leave you with some detail shots of the card I am loving these flower embellishments at the moment!
Have a great Sunday!

Saturday sketch and C4E 321

A bit later than planned! I was going to post this last night but took the night off! Had a lovely day yesterday, mum cooks a mean roast! yum!!! We got blown across the seafront and it snowed too!! It certainly blew out the cobwebs! Shame it couldn't blow away my headaches!
Today I have a card for the Saturday sketch challenge #41. This week it is Ria's turn, fab sketch! The challenge is sponsored by Funky Fairy's Papercrafts. I used the sketch to make a card for the C4E 321 march challenge HERE All the March challenges are now posted. I will post more of my challenge makes over the next week.
Here is the card....
The image is the new digital stamp called Mabel from C4E available HERE
The PP is from Basic grey, beautiful papers, it's the first time I have tried BG and I am impressed! I cut the flowers from the PP and inked the tips attached a brad and mounted on sticky fixers. The CS is Bazzill (available at C4E!), the organza ribbon is from my stash.
Mabel is coloured with watercolours and H2O's, she has a slight twinkle!

That's it from me, check out all the challenges I have mentioned, C4E website, C4E blog and Saturday sketch, they are all worth a look and all the DT's have done some beautiful examples for you!!!
Time for a coffee!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

2008 year review mini book

One of the first challenges on the Crafts 4 Eternity website (HERE) is a 2008 year review mini book. It took me a while but I finally got it finished!!
I have used materials from an old QVC kit and made the book from Bazzill cardstock. There are 12 pages, 1 for each month! Each page opens to reveal more photos and the journaling. I hand wrote the journaling (not something I normally do!!) I tried to go for a cluttered yet minimal look which I am not sure I managed...lol! Bound with 2 ring binders it is quite thick and a bit lop-sided...lol! with the folds all on one side and each with raised embellishments it was thicker on the one side! I might go back and add some chipboard rings in between the pages to even it out. Anyway here it is....

inside back cover

If you are quicker than me at making mini books there is still time to have a go look HERE
for the details of the challenge. I will change the challenge in the first week of February, so you have a couple of weeks. There are a few more challenges on the site now, a 3-2-1 card challenge and ATC challenge.
Thanks for looking

SSC#15

Ok... so I missed all the challenges this week! I had planned to join in with a few but work just got in the way! I managed to make my card for the C4E challenge on Friday night! Not a good example to set for the new design team! Oh yes I should tell you that Karyn and Annie have joined the C4E design team...Yippee!!! Lovely ladies with some gorgeous work! Check out this weeks fab cards HERE Annie has also joined the team for the website challenges you will be able to see her work next month.
So have I caught up yet...ummmm...nope!! I will be doing a FULL house clean today, you know the one where you have to move stuff instead of hiding the dirt under it...lol!!! maybe then I can keep on top of it like I used to and have more time for crafting...well that's the idea anyhow!!!
I have posted this weeks sketch at the C4E blog HERE go on have a go!!!
Here is my card for this weeks sketch.... (shut your eyes Harvey it's your birthday card!!!)
Materials: Cosmo cricket Story time kit (available HERE), printed sentiment, beads and threads from stash. Image is Magnolia's William with catapult, coloured with pencils.
I was aiming for a "scruffy" look for this card to go with the image! I didn't use 3d sticky fixers for this card which is unusual for me...lol! I didn't need them, I used a thick thread for the stitching which gave it a 3D look!

I was a lot happier with the colouring this time, my first attempts with this image didn't turn out so well.
I have posted a new challenge on the website, if you love mini books take a look HERE The next mini book challenge will be posted in the 1st week of February, so there isn't much time to join in with this one!! I will post more about my mini book tomorrow.
Ok, I can't delay it any longer....I have to CLEAN!!!!! wish me luck!!!

SSC#13

Hello
It's the first challenge of 2009 at C4E and I have begun the year with a new sketch.
This is the first card I have made since before Christmas and I just had to use my new Cuttlebug!! My yummy mummy gave me the divine swirls embossing folder to go with it and DH bought the Cuttlebug and nesties (thank-you xxx) I have probably gone a little overboard with the embossed card...but a girl has to play!!!lol. The card was for my niece's birthday on New Years day, she is a real girlie girl so Lilac it was...lol!! The PP and CS are from stash, the image is Sugar Nellies Splashing Maggie.

I had a go a paper piecing with this image, I think it worked ok? And coloured with whispers markers.
Thanks for looking

friday sketchers,sketch saturday,c4e!!!

How late am I? This was supposed to be posted on monday, it is now nearly Thursday!! The site was all set to go live on Tuesday...but...more hic-ups an email from the wrong address, a test not completed and I still haven't got everything loaded onto the site. In my defense If I hadn't had these other problems to deal with I would have been ready! Fingers crossed there is an email waiting for me in the morning to say the test has been done and we can go...yippee!!
I haven't made a single thing since Sunday!!! I have so many projects I want to get done for Christmas, as always...lol!! I have forgotten what my bed looks like! I am sure it's up those stairs somewhere...lol!! No1 son, Mikael, is poorly again! he had a throat infection last week, went back to school Thursday, came home Thursday with a grazed and swollen nose and knee!! Then sent home Friday lunchtime feeling sick! He was fine by teatime! Then last night his throat was sore and swollen again, having finished the last dose of antibiotics the night before! Poor love he can't get any peace with Alix about either!!
Ok, enough of my woes!! onto the challenge cards....
Friday Sketch....this weeks sketch is from Carole. There are some lovely DT cards to see too, HERE
and here is my card...it has my first bit of machine sewing on!
Next....Sketch Saturday. Sketch #27. Another fab sketch to be found HERE with some gorgeous DT cards too!

cute little mouse......

And finally my challenge at C4E is sketch #12 which you can find HERE

Did you notice the cute little mice? I downloaded a gorgeous kit called "Christmustime" from Cinnamon scraps, the blog can be found HERE
I have printed them onto Photograph paper, they look much clearer IRL!! like many people I am finding it had to get good photos, the sun only shines on days when I have nothing to photograph...lol!!
I am off to do some more to the website!
Thank-you for looking

spoonful of sugar challenge#27

Firstly I would just like to say Thank-you for the lovely comments that have been left, you are all lovely!!XXXX {{{{hugs}}}!!! I will catch up with everyone over the next couple of days.
My website will launch next week...Yipee!! Should be Monday or Tuesday I will post a special launch offer then. Over the next few days I will be uploading products, projects, information and challenges to the site. This site has been my dream for the last 16 years!! I am so excited...lol!!
on to the challenge.....
This weeks challenge at Spoonful of sugar is a really fab sketch from MichelleO. So good I made 2...lol!!! one for the challenge and one for DH!!
Take a look HERE to see the gorgeous DT cards!

Here is my card for the challenge....

The stamp is an old one, I have had for a few years, I have cut him out and stuck on with sticky fixers, the circle layer and the large square layer are all on sticky fixers it gave it a lovely depth! The papers are again from stash, I am sure it was a 6x6pad I got in a QVC kit a couple of years ago. Probably HOTP! The polar bear is coloured with silver H2O's, he really twinkles, which unfortunately the camera didn't pick up :(

The second card I have for you is using that great tree idea I mentioned before, although it looks very similar to the first one I did use different papers. I will get a lilac one done soon!

There was a lot of inking on this card, I found that my whispers inks, although I was disappointed when I first got them, are great for subtle distressing and background stamping.
I seem to have made a lot of square cards this year so this one is the larger A5 size, nice having more space to work with.

Well that is quite enough from me! I had better check out what other challenges are about and get the website finished.
Thank-you again for the lovely comments
Big....
to you all!!!!
thanks for stopping by

PTW-Dawny's sketch #3

My word it has got cold here...brrrrr!!! How is the Christmas shopping going? A nice man knocked on my door at 7.15AM!! yesterday morning with 4 large boxes for me and mum, it was some of the kids Christmas presents. I didn't realise how big the Thomas train set was going to be!! I don't think Santa will be able to fit it all under the tree this year!!!!lol Still the kids will love it all, and DH can't wait to play with the train set...lol!!! I have ordered them a surprise gift, I probably shouldn't have done it but we have worked hard all year and they will love it!! I will have to work really hard getting some sales on the website! My website is almost done now I am uploading the products at the moment, a slight technical hitch yesterday when all the products appeared in the pattern paper section!!! But the web guy is looking at it hopefully today!
This weeks PTW challenge is another fab sketch from Dawny look HERE to see the sketch and the gorgeous DT cards.
I have turned the sketch around because I wanted to tie the ribbon around the image but didn't want it going across Tilda's feet! I think it worked out ok! This was a nice sketch to work with, I am going to use this one again!! The PP is all free digi papers, from the Monkey love kit (link on sidebar) I have stamped it lightly with a stamp from Dovecraft's Fantasy set, and silver ink.
Tilda is coloured with H2O's and whispers pens. The greeting is printed from the computer. The ribbon is left over from my wedding! And all in my favourite colour too!!!lol
Well I am off to photograph kits and upload them to the site! have a good day.
Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs

SSC#26 & C4E

Lots of shopping done yesterday, off to collect some more today! Most of the important stuff has been ordered, I love the Internet, no cold, rain, no cross people pushing and shoving...bliss!!! lol. I still have to go in to town but just for the little bits.
This card doubles up for...
Sketch Saturday....fab sketch this week, I think I will use this again, I will add it to the file...when I make it...lol!!!! Check out the challenge and fab DT cards HERE
and...
C4E....My challenge is "Christmas trees" you can see the challenge HERE
No DT cards to see only mine! Unfortunately no DT yet, if you'd like to join the team please email me, I could do with a little help as the C4E site is almost ready to go live!!

The Christmas tree is made from layers of folded strips of paper. I saw this in "scrapbook Inspirations issue 47. There is a gorgeous LO on page 63 by Beckie Dreyer, using this technique. I liked the effect of this, I think I might try it in lilac and pink!!

The star at the top of the tree is gold, I wanted to age it a bit so I used a nail file to sand it then inked it with brown stazon. The papers are from stash...no still haven't bought any new stash!! If I manage to stick to it I shall have to buy some new stash in the new year as a reward!!!
Time to fly...well drive...over to Argos to get the reserved gifts, might pop into Matalan and Asda too, pick up the Turkey!!
Thanks for stopping by

Friday sketchers challenge

This weeks Friday Sketch is from Beatrix. The sketch is great, I liked using this sketch!!! There are some fab cards from the DT as well take a look HERE to see Beatrix's fab sketch and the DT cards!
I am still on my "no new Christmas stash" challenge so all the materials are from my stash!! The papers are a free digi download from last Christmas, the image I drew myself and coloured with H2O's. There is lots of glitter glue on this card too!!! The Chip letters are embossed with Hologram super sparkle! why? funny story...lol!! I didn't have a white 's' so I sanded a lime green one and covered with embossing powder! Whilst holding the letters down with my tweezers, to heat them I managed to get ink and powder on the tweezers add the heat and I've embossed my tweezers!!!!lol Luckily I got them clean again!!
Anyway enough chat I have Christmas shopping to do! Here is the card....

...and a couple of close ups too!!
Thanks for stopping by, I will be back tomorrow with the C4E challenge card and the Saturday sketch card, I think I will do one card to fit both so I can do more shopping...lol!!!!
