Family Layout

Good morning :)
I have my DT project for this weeks C4E recipe challenge for you today :)
Our theme this week is CHRISTMAS :)
All the challenge details, entry and fabulous DT inspiration can be found HERE.

This week I have done a layout using a photo from last Christmas.
I don't know about you but getting a decent photo of my boys is getting harder and harder lol!

I was having a play with the photo editing and found a brilliant effect called Time Machine. It alters the photo to the style of various times such as Victorian, 50's and 70's. This photo had a Victorian effect added.

The background was stamped with a variety of stamps including stitches, hearts and a date stamp.
I sprinkled gold paint and red Dylusions ink over it before adding the paper cluster and embellishments.

The kit for this layout is available in the C4E store, though I don't think there are many left now!
Have a fabulous weekend thanks for stopping by

Snow Angel

Good Morning :)
I am back today with my DT project for this weeks C4E Challenge.
This weeks challenge is to share your Winter themed projects with us :)
We have a fabulous prize up for grabs from Crafts 4 Eternity too!
All the details, entry and fabulous DT inspiration can be found HERE.

For my Winter project I chose a layout of my son making a snow angel.
We don't get snow here very often so when we do we get out and play lol!

I used masking fluid through a snow flake stencil (Dylusions) on to a sheet of cardstock painted with gesso.

Then added Dylusions ink and plenty of water. You can see the snowflakes are resisting the ink.
I left it to dry rather than use a heat tool I wanted the ink to pool and settle naturally.

Oddly the purple ink doesn't show much on the finished layout!
Once dry I added some stamping and a few silver paint snowflakes.
Then rubbed off the masking fluid. Although the fluid didn't capture the snowflake shapes quite as well as I hoped the effect was interesting.

The layout was finished with a paper cluster using a Kaiserkraft 6x6 pad, some punched snowflakes and sequins.

I'll definitely be having another play with the masking fluid I like the effect :)
Don't forget to join us this week at the C4E challenge, have a great weekend

Mixed Media Christmas card #2

Hello :)
As promised I am back with the second Finnabair inspired Mixed Media Christmas card for this weeks Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge.

For the second card I used a selection of buttons, beads, lace, staples, plaster board tape, glass gems and metal chain.

As before everything was adhered to a piece of cardstock then covered with White Gesso before adding the colour.

The colours for this card were Dylusions Cut Grass and Black and gold Maya Gold paint.

For this card I used only ultra fine gold glitter and Inca Gold to finish it off.

Some of the paint peeled off the glass pieces which gives it a worn vintage feel.

I really enjoyed making these cards, next on the list is a layout using this technique!
Have a great day thanks for stopping by :)

Mixed Media Christmas card

Hello :)
It's Friday and time for a new Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe Challenge!
This week we would like you to share projects which feature

BUTTONS, BEADS and BLING

Our lovely sponsors this week are Crafty Sentiments Designs who are offering one randomly selected winner 3 digital stamps from their fabulous collection.
As always there is gorgeous inspiration from the fabulous DT girls too!
Hop over HERE for all the details.

Inspired by Finnabair I made 4 cards playing with beads, buttons, paint, ink and glitter.

I first added some torn book paper, buttons, beads, gems and a bottle cap to a piece of cardstock.
I then covered the whole piece with Gesso.

I really wanted to keep the white space on the card so instead of spraying the ink I used a paint brush to add it where I wanted it. This gave me much more control.
I used Maya Gold in Gold and  Dylusions Post box red and black.

When it was dry I added a mix of ultra fine glitter and some chunky gold glitter.

To finish I added a little Inca Gold in gold with a sponge over some of the raised areas.

I'll be back soon with my second card using this technique soon :)
Thanks for stopping by have a great weekend!

Furry Friends at Crafts 4 Eternity

Good Morning :)
It's been a while but I'm back today with my Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe challenge project.
This weeks challenge is called
FURRY FRIENDS
and we would like you to share projects which feature a furry animal.
Our lovely sponsors Sassy Studio Designs are offering one randomly selected winner 4 images from their gorgeous collection and as always there is fabulous inspiration from the design team!
Hop over HERE for all the details, DT inspiration and entry.

My furry friend is a cute polar bear who has been in my collection forever!
He doesn't need much colouring but loves a little sparkle so he has had some twinkling H2O's added.

The background is very simple, just a few pieces of Washi tape, some cotton thread, ink splatters and a few sequins.

That's all from me today :) Thanks for stopping by I hope you will join us this week and share your favourite furry friends with us!
Have a great day

Said the Spider to the Fly...

Good Morning :)
It's Friday and time for a new challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity :)
This week we would like you to share projects which feature creepy crawlies!
Our fabulous sponsor is Sassy Studio Design who are kindly offering one randomly selected winner 4 of their gorgeous images!
Hop over HERE for all the details entry and of course the fabulous DT inspiration.

When I started this card I knew I wanted to use some Halloween left overs I had in a drawer.
There was some cobweb stuff that sticks to everything but what you want it to and some fun plastic bugs.
Other than that I just went with the flow!

I started off with a piece of lovely Halloween paper from Basic Grey. It's a really old 6x6 pad from the Eerie collection.
I scraped some Gesso on to the centre of the paper with a palette knife, then when it was dry got to work with inks and stamps. I added some Glitter paste through a stencil then walked away lol!

Using up some of the scrap pieces from the paper pad I made a cluster of pattern then covered it with a piece of Chiffon, a piece of net and finally the cobwebs which refused to stay where I put it, in hindsight it would have been easier to put it under some paper but I wanted the words to float in the cobweb with the fly and the spider.

I'm teaching again this weekend at the regular monthly Crafts 4 Eternity crop, we will be making a mixed media snowflake card and a matchbox memory hanger!
Have a great weekend thanks for stopping by!
