c4e june kit project

When I saw the C4E June kit I immediately thought it was perfect for this Family planner that I had been thinking of doing. You can still get the June kit, Home Bird HERE.
The planner basically consists of 2 single layouts, a back cover and a lot of printed planner sheets, all bound together with a BIA. I used a Microsoft works spreadsheet to create a weekly planning sheet that suited out family.
Extra materials needed in addition to the kit are: 12x12 chipboard sheets, white cardstock, sewing threads, beads, pegs and BIA wire.

I have used the same 4 photographs on both the outside cover and the inside LO. The title was printed, then pierced holes and sewed using back stitch. Using the Bracket shaped paper in the kit I made a template to use on the front cover so they would match. I have sewn around the edge of the bracket shape using zig-zag stitch (by hand!).

Inside the planner is the second LO which will be on display. I have hand stitched (back stitch) around the edge of the bracket PP and the tree design, adding the occasional bead in.

I printed about 50 weekly planner sheets to include. I am hoping that when they run out I will be able to open the wires and add some more!

At the bottom I added 2 pegs with diecut shapes on, to hold little notes and letters. They are attached with superglue so should stay put!! lol

The final result is a unique family planner, made to suit our family needs!! It's kind of tucked away by a cupboard, but that is where my "command centre" is in the kitchen!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

c4e sketch#35 and something hidden!

Sorry I am a bit late with my C4E post this week, it's a bit of a Birthday weekend here. My BIL was 30 yesterday so we were very late home last night. And today is my sister's Birthday! so we are back round there tonight! I haven't even made her cards yet...lol!!
This weeks c4e sketch has an additional challenge
....."Something Hidden".......
Check out the challenge and the gorgeous DT cards HERE
My card for this weeks challenge was made a couple of weeks ago for a friend and fellow team mate on UK Scrappers. She passed her flight attendants course with 98%!!!! I wanted to send her some stamped Gorjuss girls too so came up with this idea......
Again I have done a lot of hand sewing on the card! The PP are MME 29th street which can be bought HERE The ribbon I cut out of my sisters top at the last c4e crop, while she was still wearing it!!!! LOL

The image is one of the Gorjuss girls from the first set. Coloured with watercolours and H2O's. She is mounted on a little book which hides a few Gorjuss stamped images. The little book was made by folding a piece of CS in half and adding a strip of PP to the inside to make a pocket. The ribbon was added to the book before attaching to the card and attaching the image.

I wrote a note in the card to tell Tink that there was something hidden on the card and could she find it!! LOL!!

I had better get my sisters cards made before we have to go!!
Thanks for stopping by
have a great day

c4e sketch #32

This weeks C4E sketch has been posted today. This week we are asking you to use stitching on your cards too! Real or faux, machine or hand whichever you prefer! Hop over HERE to see the sketch and fab DT cards!

This week I made a card and matching notebook. They are for a special little girl whose birthday I missed last week. She was Mikael's girlfriend for a while!!! LOL but he has moved on now to Lexi!!!

I bought the first set of gorjuss girl stamps from a seller on UKS a couple of weeks ago and haven't got round to using them till this week...OMG!!! so gorjuss!!! LOL My friend and fellow DT member sent me some stamped images from the second set too, so jealous I missed the set again!!

I have coloured this gorjuss girl with pencils.

The stitching is all done by hand and yes it has taken forever to complete this set!! lol The sewn frame technique I have used was shared on UKS on a LO. I have done a LO with this technique (may kit LO to be posted!!)

The Chipboard covers are cut from some packaging that came with a pack of paper.
I decorated all 4 sides of the chipboard covers. The PP is K&co from stash, as is the ribbon.
The inside pages are good quality copy paper with various gorjuss images stamped in one corner. I have left them un-coloured so Lauren can colour them herself.
I will leave you with some detail shots of the card I am loving these flower embellishments at the moment!
Have a great Sunday!

friday sketchers,sketch saturday,c4e!!!

How late am I? This was supposed to be posted on monday, it is now nearly Thursday!! The site was all set to go live on Tuesday...but...more hic-ups an email from the wrong address, a test not completed and I still haven't got everything loaded onto the site. In my defense If I hadn't had these other problems to deal with I would have been ready! Fingers crossed there is an email waiting for me in the morning to say the test has been done and we can go...yippee!!
I haven't made a single thing since Sunday!!! I have so many projects I want to get done for Christmas, as always...lol!! I have forgotten what my bed looks like! I am sure it's up those stairs somewhere...lol!! No1 son, Mikael, is poorly again! he had a throat infection last week, went back to school Thursday, came home Thursday with a grazed and swollen nose and knee!! Then sent home Friday lunchtime feeling sick! He was fine by teatime! Then last night his throat was sore and swollen again, having finished the last dose of antibiotics the night before! Poor love he can't get any peace with Alix about either!!
Ok, enough of my woes!! onto the challenge cards....
Friday Sketch....this weeks sketch is from Carole. There are some lovely DT cards to see too, HERE

And finally my challenge at C4E is sketch #12 which you can find HERE

Did you notice the cute little mice? I downloaded a gorgeous kit called "Christmustime" from Cinnamon scraps, the blog can be found HERE
I have printed them onto Photograph paper, they look much clearer IRL!! like many people I am finding it had to get good photos, the sun only shines on days when I have nothing to photograph...lol!!

Happy Halloween and Mikael's birthday cards!

Hi, Happy Halloween!!! We are off to my mum's tonight for a Halloween Tea. Mum loves Halloween, she buys or grows the pumpkins for the kids to carve, I usually end up with the yukky job of scraping them out...nice!!! This year she is expecting us ALL to dress up, not sure Clive likes that idea...lol!!!
I have Mikael's Birthday cards to share today, a bit late but it was really hectic last week, I finished the last card about 2am on the morning of his birthday!!
I made 3 cards for him this year. My mum couldn't find a card with Pokemon, grandson and 7 on it so I offered to make one for her. I make all her cards except for me and my boys!! The second was for Alix to give his brother, just loved the William stamp! And the last one was from his dad and I I have used this sk8r boy stamp a lot over the last month and each time it has been different. I made one with Halloween papers (skulls!) which I sent to Mikael's friend without taking a photo...duh!!
Anyway enough waffle here are the cards...

Bulbasaur was hand drawn and painted with H2o's.

There is some hand stitching on this card, I used a In Stitchz template for the #7.

Thanks for stopping by have a great Halloween

C4E Sunday Sketch Challenge #6

Hello
Well I am still reeling from the lovely comments you left!
Busy afternoon making cards for the C4E Sunday Sketch Challenge.
...and using some scrummy papers I have bought in for the new site!!LOL
DH has been playing with the boys all afternoon, with the train set!! at one point I found Alix asleep, Mikael drawing and DH was still playing with the trains!!lol and no I wasn't quick enough with the camera.
On the subject of cameras... Alix and I went down to the beach to watch the red arrows, fantastic view and you guessed it the camera was sitting at home!!! I did put it ready to put in my bag, but was so rushed that I forgot. I have been kicking myself since, as there was some great shots to be had!!

This is C4E Sunday Sketch#6

Pop over to the C4E blog and join in!

My first card would have been good for the PTW challenge last week too. Inspired by the stitching I got out the new Bazzill In-stitchz templates. I used "bring me flowers" for this card.

The papers are the Birdie bits papers from Dream Street.

The Birdie!!

Hand stitched swirl using the Bazzill template.

I have been thinking about "white space" on cards this week. There has been alot of this technique in scrapbooking lately. I have seen a lot in the mags and on the blogs. So with this in mind I made this card with the sketch.

The sketches I have done for the next few weeks work well with this "white space" technique.

The papers are from Daisy Bucket, Wondrous world. The stamps are also from this collection.

The final card uses the 29th Street Market cardstock from My minds eye. I love the quality and texture this cardstock has.

The photo didn't show the lovely heart gems I added to the stamped flourish so here is a close up!

The stamp used was Dovecraft's Fantasy~emblems

I have used these stamps a lot since I bought them I love the fairy ones!!

So there they are. I will take a look at the PTW challenge tomorrow and try to get it in early! I shocked myself getting my card posted so quick last week.

Thank-you for looking

take care
