Treasured Photo

 Hello everyone :)
Last month I entered the UK Scrappers House challenge with this layout.
The challenge was to use a photo that was not perfect, one that you would probably not normally scrap. There was also a sketch to follow which I squished up to fit on to a 8.5 x 11" layout.

My mum recently bought a fab new gadget. It scans old negatives and slides, they can then be saved as .jpeg images ready for printing. My mum has always been a keen photographer and took lots of pictures of us as we grew up.
The focus of the layout is about having this opportunity to see these old photos and remember my childhood.

The layout has a very 70's feel with these gorgeous DP's from Crate Paper and My Minds Eye.
I have used the Martha Stewart punch Doily lace, and machine stitched around all the pieces.

I seem to have a thing about butterflies at the moment lol! they keep appearing on all my projects!

I have added lots of Stickles to highlight the fabulous patterns on the paper and of course the butterflies.

And this is the photo my sister and I in the late 70's about 1978. I'm the one at the front ;)
Have a good day thanks for stopping by

I see You

Good morning :)
I found this layout lurking in the draft section of blogger lol! Thought I'd better post it before it disappeared!
I made this layout for a UK Scrappers weekly challenge in February! I wonder how many others I haven't posted lol!
The photos were taken a couple of years ago in a park near the boys school. My nieces had come for a visit and we all went to enjoy the sunshine. I don't see my nieces very often so I took lots of photos :)

I probably would have added more embellishments to this layout but the challenge requirements didn't allow for them.
I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday weekend

Ray of Sunshine

Afternoon everyone :)
The sun has returned here so the the kids are in the garden building sandcastles and kicking a football at the house lol! If they tidy up their mess later I'll take them to the park ;)
This week I actually got time to enter the UK Scrappers weekly challenge and earn some points for the team :)
I have used this week C4E recipe sketch too!
The photo was taken a couple of years ago towards the end of the summer and is of Mikael (DS1).
I have used papers and rubons from the  C4E  Sunkissed kit, still have more left to play with!

Part of the challenge was to include some real life memorabilia, I have added some shells we collected of our beach.
I have coloured the Dream Street Alphas with Copics and added Fancy Pants Summer soiree rubons to the layout. I don't usually use rubons much but these are lovely.
I still have a mothers day card to make....eeek! so I'd best get on with that!
Have a great day I hope the sun is shining where you are!

C4E R#56 - Spooky! & UKS Wk 3

Hello everyone :)
Sorry to be so late with my C4E post, I'm still fighting with a cough at the moment which seems to be winning the night battles lol! I am also really behind in my blog visits too :( sorry.
This weeks C4E recipe is to use the sketch and a Spooky Halloween theme. The DT gallery is fabulous as always :)
I have combined this weeks recipe with last weeks UKS weekly challenge and made a layout.

The photo is of my BIL who let me take this photo before he put his halloween mask on!!! ;)

The bingo card is one of my new Halloween Bingo cards which should have been released by now but the coughing got in the way! You can win a set of these digi's by entering this weeks C4E challenge.

That's all from me for the moment, I have also made 2 cards for Mikael (ds1) who was 9 yesterday, I'll share those soon :)
I will leave you with the recipe for this layout and hopefully visit you all again soon :)

Fright Night!

 Hello :)
I have a layout to share today :) This one was made for the UKS Oct wk1 challenge and the GBSB weekend. We were challenged to use up the scraps of DP's that we have, use a grid, circles and something new.
Using lots of different DP's with this photo worked really well as there are so many strong colours in it.

I picked up some Halloween stickers in the Pound shop recently which was my something new and circles :)

I've kept the embellishments very simple just a couple of squares of DP scrunched up and finished with a quick sticker. The doodling was done with a white gelly pen. DP's are Basic Grey Eerie collection.
It's the C4E Crop tomorrow YAY!! Looking forward to a Christmassy day with the girls :)
Thanks for stopping by have fun!

And Me!!!

Hello everyone :)
This weekend I am doing my first online classes for UKS!! The Green Buttons House is hosting a Scrapping Bonanza weekend to help get everyones mojo flowing again and I have supplied 2 classes! So I thought I would share a couple of sneek peeks with you :)
Friday class

Saturday class

Sunday night I remembered I had not done my layout for last weeks weekly challenge on UKS...oops!! A bit of quick thinking and this is what I came up with
Mikael was sailor in a school earlier this year and while I was taking photo's of him in his costume, Alix said "and me!" so he posed in the headscarf for mummy :) I must scrap the photo's of Mikael sometime too lol! So many layouts so little time! lol!

New Term

Good morning :)
Today is the start of a new school year! Mikael starts Yr4 today! It doesn't seem 5 minutes since he was starting in reception which is where Alix (munchkin) starts on Monday! Yikes!!
This layout was completed for last weeks UKS weekly challenge. I have used photos from 2008 when Mikael started Yr2. He wasn't really that sad to be going to school he loves school lol! He just hates the yearly photo I take on the first day of school :) lol!
I got out the fabulous Tim Holtz masks for this layout as well as the glossy accents and chipboard :) The DPs are really old Hot Off The Press papers from my stash (my something old for the challenge)
I loved how the glossy accents reacted with the distress inks on the chipboard!!
I used the Ransom masks as stencils for the title and gave them a coating of Glossy accents before adding them to the layout.
Recipe
Cardstock - Bazzill & stash
DP's - Hot Off The Press (old!)
Chipboard - stash
Buttons - stash
blending tool
Glossy accents
Distress Ink pads - Faded Jeans & Scattered Straw
