Mixed Media Card ~ Be Happy and Smile

Good Morning :)
Last week at the Crafts 4 Eternity monthly crop the workshop was Clever Clusters. We used printed die cuts to make cluster embellishments for layouts, cards and more!
I made this card as part of the demonstration.
The April Page Kit includes a selection of die cuts.

It's quite simple in design but has a mixed media background and lots of dimension.

The die cuts used are from Kaisercrafts Sea Breeze collection. I added washi tape pieces and silver thread between the layers of diecuts.

The background was an experiment! I saw an article in the Docrafts magazine where a crackle background was created using PVA glue and acrylic paint.
You paint a thick layer of PVA glue on to cardstock, then a thick layer of acrylic paint on top whilst the glue is still wet. when you dry it with a heat tool it cracks.
It was a quick process and the effect was ok, not as good as a crackle product but I do like to experiment :)

Have you tried a new technique recently? Did it work or was it a complete disaster ?
I will be back soon with my final project using the April Page kit.
Have a wonderful day thanks for stopping by :)

Footy Bookmark

Good Morning :)
I am busy getting ready for the first Crafts 4 Eternity 12 hour crop at the moment but I managed to squeeze in a quick DT project for this weeks C4E recipe challenge.
Our challenge this week is SPORT. We would like you to share any type of project with a sporty theme or element.

stamping all day

Our lovely sponsors this week are Stamping All Day who are offering one randomly selected winner 3 downloads from their fabulous collection.

My project this week is a bookmark for my eldest son. I caught him turning down the corners of a book he was reading naughty boy! So I made him a little bookmark to use instead.

I made the bookmark at the same time as making the Now and Then Mini album for one of Sunday's workshops so it matches perfectly lol!
I used a scrap of cardstock, added some modelling paste through a stencil, then painted it with Gesso before adding Blue acrylic paint.
The background was completed with some splats of red Dylusions ink and silver Maya gold paint then added some Gesso circles using a bottle top.

My son is a big football fan so this Kenny K image was perfect.
He is coloured with Copics.

All that remains is for me to say ...
Hop over HERE to see all the gorgeous DT inspiration and enter this week challenge :)
... and if you fancy 12 hours of workshops, crafting, cake and chat I have space still available for Sundays event, email me at crafts4eternity@aol.co.uk for details.

Have a fabulous day thanks for stopping by

Delicious Recipes Book

Good Morning :)
It's looking like it's going to be a busy weekend here in Weston!
We have our annual air days across the weekend with lots of planes and activities going on in town, and of course it's the C4E all day crop and workshops on Sunday too!
Listen out for us on the Breeze radio (107.7) we have been mentioned the last couple of months!
If you would like to join us the details are all HERE.
So it's Friday today and time for a new challenge on the C4E Recipe Challenge blog, this week we would like you to share project with a ...
FABULOUS FOOD
theme or element.

stamping all day

Our lovely sponsors Stamping All Day are kindly offering one randomly selected winner 3 downloads from their collection.
All the challenge details and entry can be found HERE. While you're there check out the fabulous DT inspiration they are a talented bunch of ladies!

My food themed project today is a recipe book for a swap at the C4E crop.
The swap is on going so I've allowed lots of room for some new recipes to try.

The book is slightly bigger than A5 in size to allow for the A5 size pocket pages inside.
I like my covers to be a little larger than the inside pages.
The papers are an old collection from Basic Grey, I've horded these papers for quite some time lol!
I painted the edges of the chipboard covers with White Crackle Paint. then added the papers on top when it was dry.

The cute cutlery and "Recipes" die cuts were from a lovely lady at the C4E crop.

I still need to add some dividers to the book, but can't decide what sections I want yet!

That's all from me today have a wonderful weekend
thanks for stopping by

The Donkey Ride

 Hello everyone :)
How is your summer going? We have had a wet week here but we did manage two star gazing nights, a bike ride, a trip to the park and a trip to town in amongst the usual work commitments and dodging the rain lol!

I have a layout to share today :) It's for this weeks Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe challenge.
The challenge this week is SUMMER FUN! We would like you to share your summer themed projects with us.
For me Summer means beach, and we have plenty of beach here in Weston!
We also have Donkeys too!

So what better way to say summer than a layout about a Donkey ride on the beach.
The photos are from when my sister and I were very young.

The DP's are Tim Holtz and the sketch was from a Speed Scrap challenge on UK Scrappers.

I'm not sure what the reasoning behind the washers was lol!
For more gorgeous inspiration from the fabulous DT girls and all the challenge details head over HERE.
I'm teaching this Sunday at the C4E monthly workshops held at Banwell, near Weston. We will be playing with Glue Guns and Ephemera this month! More details HERE.

The papers are Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium.

I still need to journal on this one, do you have lots of un-journaled layouts? I seem to do that a lot, leave the journaling for one reason or another and then forget to add it lol!

Crafts 4 Eternity R#41

 Hello everyone  :)
This weeks Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe challenge is a colour recipe, we would like to see projects with the colours Purple and Orange.

Something a little different for me this week ! No pattern paper !
I stamped the Gorjuss Girl image onto some cardstock, created a mask and used Distress inks to create my background. I have stamped with various stamps including Prima and Stampers Anonymous.
I gave it a light spritz of Perfect Pearls Mists and added some white acrylic paint circles using the lid of the Perfect Pearls Mists.
The image was coloured with Distress inks and Twinkling H2O's.
The sentiment is handwritten and I finished off the card with some machine stitching.
Join us HERE for this weeks challenge and to check out the beautiful creations from the design team.
I have a busy weekend ahead, it's the Crafts 4 Eternity crop on Sunday :) I'm off to ice the cupcakes !
Thanks for stopping by
Have fun!

Together

Together is the layout we did at the January crafts 4 eternity crop!

and here's how!!
You will need:
K&co Verbena papers purple swirl and golden flower & ornaments. Get them HERE
bazzill cardstock white, lavender & palm. get them here Palm white lavender
glossy accents, brads, ink pads, chipboard swirl, AC Thickers, border punch, photo 13.5cm x 17.5cm. Usual tools and adhesives.

1. Measure and cut a 9"x9" piece of the purple swirls paper. Cut 2 strips of Palm CS 1.5"x9", punch a border along one long edge. (I've used Martha Stewart doily punch). Attach the strips to two opposite sides (top & bottom). Attach to the white CS slightly off centre towards the right.

2. Mat your photo on the lavender CS. Cut a strip of Palm CS to fit down the right hand edge (4cm x 13.5cm). Punch with the same border punch and attach to the LO slightly off centre to the right.

3. Take the golden flower & ornaments PP and cut out sections of the pattern. Start with a large piece for the base of the embellishment. When you have a selection of pieces arrange them on your LO until you are happy. Attach using sticky fixers.

Attach brads and additional layers as you go. The trick is to keep adding pieces until you are happy. You can also add ribbon, curled paper, wire etc.

Add glossy accent dots for extra dimension.

Add a second flower on top of another to make them 'pop'. Slightly offset it and use sticky fixers to lift it up.
pinch the tips of petals and add extra flat back gems.

Using a sponge add distress inks onto the chipboard swirl to colour it. you could finish it off with glitter or glossy accents.

4. To complete the LO add your title I have used lavender glitter chipboard AC Thickers.

This technique will work with lots of similar style papers. It will also work with chipboard elements and die cut elements.

You can download a PDF version of this project from the crafts 4 eternity craft room HERE

Thanks for stopping by take care
