Birnbeck Pier mixed media layout

Good morning :)
Last day of term YAY! No school runs for 2 weeks lovely :)
This weeks challenge on the C4E recipe challenge blog is ...

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

We would like you to share any project as long as it is not a card, lots of possibilities there, so why not grab some stash and play along :)
crafty sentiments designs

Our sponsors this week, Crafty Sentiments Designs are offering one randomly selected winner 3 digital images from their fabulous collection.

My project this week is a mixed media layout.
I love experimenting with texture and colour in my projects. This is the first time I used a black ink spray, it was a little scary adding the black but I loved how it turned out :)

The layout is 8.5 x 11". I started by adding modelling paste, chicken wire, washers, flowers, bandages and staples to the cardstock. I usually leave my projects to air dry while I work on another one so when it was dry I covered the whole piece with a coat of Gesso.

When the Gesso was dry it was time to add the colour. I used Dylusions Ink Sprays in Black and London Blue.

The photo was placed on top of a piece of cheesecloth and tracing paper.

A few seed beads, staples and alphas completed the layout.

The photo is of Birnbeck pier a sadly neglected piece of Weston's history.
