Here is the other card I made last weekend and forgot to post!! The card has been made using the Papercraft Planet Saturday sketch from last Saturday (24/01/09) and I have sent it to Karyn for her valentine candy venture. Unfortunately this is now closed but you can still visit karyn's blog HERE

I have used some digi papers can't remember where from sorry.The sentiment is a Stamps away stamp.

whoops!!

Oh dear!! I made this card for the Sketch Saturday challenge last weekend!! I know it's now nearly this weekend but I have been sooooo busy this week!! No excuse really...LOL!! I will be quick as I am supposed to be at the C4E launch party on Papercraft Planet!!!

Lovely Tilda is coloured with pencils. The sentiment stamp is from stamps away, the PP is some old K&co I found in my stash. I got out the only border bunch I possess!!! It's very old and I have no idea where from...lol
Must dash got another post to write (yep another challenge card I forgot to post!!!) and the party has started without me!!!

C4E- Sunday sketch challenge #16

This weeks sketch at the Crafts 4 Eternity blog is now posted. The girls have done a fab job this week and we have a new DT member, Cindy! Busy week for the Crafts 4 Eternity team!

My card this week is a fun snail image which was hand drawn from a dingbat image I downloaded forever ago!! I seem to have gone lime green and orange mad a bit recently!

I have coloured the snail with pencils, seem to be favouring them at the mo. Other materials used are Bazzill cs and daisy bucket's lizzie paper (again!) You can get the paper HERE
Inside had a quick decoration, just some lime green cs and another snail!

Sorry about the poor colours in the images, don't know why his shell looks more red than orange!

Awards!!

My first awards!! Annie from annie's antics and Pinky from Pinky's world have both awarded me this award. Thank-you ladies I am really touched :) As I got it twice does that mean I can pass on to 10 people???...lol!!! There are so many inspirational blogs I visit it is hard to choose a few, and I am feeling generous!!!!...so I am passing it on to you all!!!! snag the tag and pass on the love!! LOL. There really is alot of talent about.

Talking of awards.... DS#1 Mikael came out of school yesterday with a trophy!!!! He has won an award for literacy....Well done sweetie!! Clever boy!! He is excelling in reading, wonder where he gets that from...sly look at the many bookshelves!!!! The house is full of books, so there is always plenty for the children to read, even Alix who is not 3 yet! He loves looking at books, we are book mad...lol. DH thinks I am mad...didn't ya know that already hun? LOL

I will have a card tomorrow, for the C4E blog challenge, I am actually catching up and made the card earlier in the week...well...thursday night!! The C4E blog candy is still open you can see it HERE

And I realised last night that My first post on The lilac diary was 28th January 2007, I am going to be 1!!!! I will have to see if I have anything left and do a candy!!

2 more challenges in 1 card!

2 posts in 1 day gotta be a record for me!!!!LOL!!! Ok so here is this afternoons card. I used today's Friday Sketcher sketch #36 which the talented Beatrix has done. And used 3 different shapes to fit with papertake weekly's challenge!!

Gotta be a first for me to complete and post a card the same day the challenge is posted...lol!!!

I got my cuttlebug and nesties out for this card and used a cute owl stamp from stamps away that has been lurking in my box! The ribbon is WRM urban window (available HERE) and the chip ribbon slide from a QVC kit. I haven't used these before! The rest of the bits and bobs I found lying around the craft room...lol!!!

Again I did the inside of the card, not too much!

When I edited this photo I realised it would make a nice ATC!!!!LOL!! I will have to add that to the list!!!

I have been given 2 awards, so sweet!! I will post them tomorrow so this isn't too long and I get to come back again tomorrow too!

2 challenges 1 card!!

Phew!! What a week! I just about managed to squeeze in a couple of challenge cards this week. I had to double them up, hope that's ok?! I will keep this short and sweet, I want to do another card this afternoon!

Sketch Saturday #34 Fab sketch to work with this week ! Probably a bit late to join this weeks sketch but you can see this sketch and a new one tomorrow HERE as always the DT have produced some stunning cards!

This card also fits the Spoonful of sugar challenge this week. They have asked for baby/new mum/pre-schooler cards this week. This is little Harvey's 2nd birthday card for sunday.

I am hoping that it is ok to enter this card as it is not a stamped image, I drew the little alien! I surprised myself with this little guy drew him first time! I called him Eric!!! LOL

He is coloured with pencils, The orange and green are brighter IRL, I missed the sunshine this morning!!

I have gone back to decorating the insides of my cards again....

The pattern paper is Daisy Bucket ~ Lizzie (which you can get HERE) and lovely Marmalade Bazzill cardstock.

2008 year review mini book

One of the first challenges on the Crafts 4 Eternity website (HERE) is a 2008 year review mini book. It took me a while but I finally got it finished!!

I have used materials from an old QVC kit and made the book from Bazzill cardstock. There are 12 pages, 1 for each month! Each page opens to reveal more photos and the journaling. I hand wrote the journaling (not something I normally do!!) I tried to go for a cluttered yet minimal look which I am not sure I managed...lol! Bound with 2 ring binders it is quite thick and a bit lop-sided...lol! with the folds all on one side and each with raised embellishments it was thicker on the one side! I might go back and add some chipboard rings in between the pages to even it out. Anyway here it is....

SSC#15

Ok... so I missed all the challenges this week! I had planned to join in with a few but work just got in the way! I managed to make my card for the C4E challenge on Friday night! Not a good example to set for the new design team! Oh yes I should tell you that Karyn and Annie have joined the C4E design team...Yippee!!! Lovely ladies with some gorgeous work! Check out this weeks fab cards HERE Annie has also joined the team for the website challenges you will be able to see her work next month.

So have I caught up yet...ummmm...nope!! I will be doing a FULL house clean today, you know the one where you have to move stuff instead of hiding the dirt under it...lol!!! maybe then I can keep on top of it like I used to and have more time for crafting...well that's the idea anyhow!!!

Here is my card for this weeks sketch.... (shut your eyes Harvey it's your birthday card!!!)

Materials: Cosmo cricket Story time kit (available HERE), printed sentiment, beads and threads from stash. Image is Magnolia's William with catapult, coloured with pencils.

I was aiming for a "scruffy" look for this card to go with the image! I didn't use 3d sticky fixers for this card which is unusual for me...lol! I didn't need them, I used a thick thread for the stitching which gave it a 3D look!

I was a lot happier with the colouring this time, my first attempts with this image didn't turn out so well.

SSC#14 C4E Challenge

Ok, ok, so I know I haven't posted all week! and I did say I would be back to normal but... how hard is it to get back into routine? We have been late for school most of the week and I don't know about you but when I start the day running late the whole day just seems to be spent trying to catch up! In all fairness it isn't exactly my fault...Alix, my youngest (3 next month!) is waking in the night, several times!! so we are not getting sleep, and I have come to the conclusion that you do really need to sleep at some point during the week!! lol. We are trying the tough love approach at the moment, no cuddles or talking, oh it breaks my heart when he is crying "mummmy" and putting his arms up for a cuddle, but it has to be done he HAS to sleep!!

So this week I have only been able to work on C4E challenges. I have a lot of challenges to go on the website. I am going to try to do a few other challenges this week...really I am...lol!!

There were some new faces joining in last weeks Sunday Sketch at the C4E Blog which was great!! I joined Papercraft Planet last week too and found some familiar faces there! The link to my page is in my sidebar. I have started a group too!! Come over and join me!

Right enough with the waffle the only card I have made this week was for the SSC on the C4E blog....

The image is Hamish fixing tractor, so cute! Coloured with ordinary pencils not sure about the colours tho! The pp's are Cosmo cricket Story time. I have a gorgeous Storytime kit on the site HERE !!

Buttons and ribbon from stash.

As I didn't buy any new stash for Christmas I am now due some!! Yippee!!! any suggestions? I could do with some more stamps and I think some dies or embossing folders for the Cuttlebug would be a good idea too....and... oh the list could go on and on and on...lol!!!

Right work to do, I have a mini book challenge to finish and post on the website and this card was made for the card challenge there too! so "Hi Ho, Hi Ho it's off to work we go....!!!"

Hello

It's the first challenge of 2009 at C4E and I have begun the year with a new sketch.

This is the first card I have made since before Christmas and I just had to use my new Cuttlebug!! My yummy mummy gave me the divine swirls embossing folder to go with it and DH bought the Cuttlebug and nesties (thank-you xxx) I have probably gone a little overboard with the embossed card...but a girl has to play!!!lol. The card was for my niece's birthday on New Years day, she is a real girlie girl so Lilac it was...lol!! The PP and CS are from stash, the image is Sugar Nellies Splashing Maggie.

I had a go a paper piecing with this image, I think it worked ok? And coloured with whispers markers.

Christmas catch-up

Phew!!! back again at last. It has been a busy few weeks I say it every year but I really must start earlier...lol!! Problem is that Mikael's birthday is the end of October and Clive's beginning November, and Mikael's parties take a lot of work!! I was thinking about doing a few of the Christmas projects I didn't get time to do now and stash them till next Christmas! Probably won't happen I still have projects from last year to finish, my Cornwall 08 brag book and Mikael's birthday album are still waiting to be finished! I think I'll add a list to the sidebar and spend a couple of weeks finishing off projects before starting new ones! Better get a shift on Alix's birthday is in a few weeks...lol!!! always something to do..lol!!

So what have I been up to? well term ended (quicker than I expected...lol!!) and we had the Teacher cards and presents. I made about 15 of these little chocolate boxes, my mum asked for some too! The box project came from Split coast stampers the 2-5-7-10 box tutorial I altered the measurements slightly to fit onto an A4 sheet of card (using stash only!!) I think these boxes are ideal for all year gifts, I might make a few to stash for emergency birthdays!

Anyway 2 teachers got these and a couple of friends too.

Somehow I have either lost or forgot to photograph some of the cards I made for Christmas! whoops!! Mikael's class teacher got a matching brown set (can't find the photo!)

I made 3 calendars for my aunts and uncles mad rush to get those done and mum wants one too! I had planned to do some coaster albums but just ran out of time. You can see the calendars in the slide show on the sidebar.

For the Mikael's friends I made paperclip bookmark cards and magic reindeer dust, no piccie of the card but the magic dust is in the slide show! For My friends children I made father Christmas kits which contained magic dust, a carrot, a cookie and a thank-you note. (piccie in slide show) and there were dozens more cards, I ended up making batches of matching cards using the same layout and materials with different images, lots of cute mice!

I will be putting the family photos of Christmas on my other blog HERE if you would like to see them (this post is getting way too long to add them!!!)

I am off to do the rounds I haven't commented on blogs for soooooo long I have been reading though.
