Art Journal ~ You Make Life Beautiful

Good Morning :)
Ok last one I promise lol! I really have enjoyed the April kit, I managed to create 3 layouts, 2 planner spreads, a card and finally an art journal page.

I made a double spread in my Art journal, the Art Journal is a cheap journal I picked up in Asda a while ago, the pages are a little thin but a good coat of Gesso helps :)

The first thing I did was add Modelling Paste through a stencil (crafters Workshop Deco Leaves) Once dry I added Distress inks( Craked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough) and lots of water drying it and adding more colour in stages. I finished off the background with a light splatter of Vintage Photo distress ink mixed with Matt Medium.

I used some scraps of pattern paper from the April kit and cut out a large flower from the Waterlily paper.
This I cut in half and placed in the center of the spread. I stamped a few leaves using the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze stamp set and added a sentiment banner from their collectables.

I tucked some cotton thread and cheese cloth behind the papers and flower.

The "believe" diecut is also from the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze collectables.

To be honest I wasn't sure if the spread wouldn't be messed up when I closed the journal but so far it seems to have survived!

I'm definitely a white space crafter lol! I will be doing more pages with white space I think :)
Do you like to cover the whole page with colour or do you like some white space?

Well April is almost over now and as we head in to May I will be sharing May Page kit inspiration :)
The May kit will be available May 1st in limited numbers, I will be back tomorrow with a sneek peek :)
Have a wonderful day thanks for stopping by

Mixed Media Card ~ Be Happy and Smile

Good Morning :)
Last week at the Crafts 4 Eternity monthly crop the workshop was Clever Clusters. We used printed die cuts to make cluster embellishments for layouts, cards and more!
I made this card as part of the demonstration.
The April Page Kit includes a selection of die cuts.

It's quite simple in design but has a mixed media background and lots of dimension.

The die cuts used are from Kaisercrafts Sea Breeze collection. I added washi tape pieces and silver thread between the layers of diecuts.

The background was an experiment! I saw an article in the Docrafts magazine where a crackle background was created using PVA glue and acrylic paint.
You paint a thick layer of PVA glue on to cardstock, then a thick layer of acrylic paint on top whilst the glue is still wet. when you dry it with a heat tool it cracks.
It was a quick process and the effect was ok, not as good as a crackle product but I do like to experiment :)

Have you tried a new technique recently? Did it work or was it a complete disaster ?
I will be back soon with my final project using the April Page kit.
Have a wonderful day thanks for stopping by :)

April Layout ~ Seeing you Smile...

Good Morning :)
I am back today with a layout using the April Page Kit and Add On Kit.

I used a lot of the stickers from the Sea Breeze sticker sheet on this layout.

The die cuts (Collectables) in the Sea Breeze collection are gorgeous!

I added some cotton thread and ink splatters (Vintage photo and Cracked Pistachio Distress inks)
and a sprinkling of sequins.

On the sticker sheet there are faux washi tape stickers and 12" border stickers, I cut pieces of the border stickers and added them with the faux washi stickers so they look like little pieces of washi.

The photo is off my youngest son Alix, taken last year at a local nature reserve.
The title "seeing you smile makes me happy" is so true, Alix has a lovely smile and rarely shares it outside the family.

What makes you smile?
I will be back soon with more inspiration using the April kit (I really did enjoy using this kit lol!)
Thanks for stopping by have a lovely day

Joyce ~ C4E April Page Kit Layout

Hello :)
I have another layout to share today, I have used the April Page Kit and Add on kit to complete this layout.

The layout was inspired by the gorgeous border sticker from the Add on kit (left side)
It was just too pretty not to use!

I did a little stamping using the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze stamp set and brown Stazon ink.

The central photo cluster is made up of pattern papers and die cuts from the collection.
The title alphas are also from the add on kit (Kaisercraft Sea Breeze)

I loved the look of the large flower on my month on 2 pages planner insert so I cut out a large flower from the Waterlily paper and added it to the bottom right corner.

I have really enjoyed playing with this kit and have another layout, Art Journal page and a card to share still!
There are still a few April kits available HERE.
and Add on kits can be found HERE

What is your starting point when creating a layout?
Have a wonderful weekend thanks for stopping by!

April Personal Planner Decorating

Good Morning :)
I am back to share my personal planner decorating using the C4E April Page kit.
This planner is a purple 2 ring binder from Staples, all the dividers, page markers & inserts I have made myself. It includes my menu planning, month and weekly planning and a note/wishlist section. The binder is very robust which it needs to be with me lol!

These inserts are a week on two pages which I made myself.

I made my own number stickers using small white round stickers (from the range) coloured them with a Copic marker then wrote the numbers on them.

As with my month spread in my Carpe Diem planner I used the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze stamp set, brown Stazon ink pad and some left over bits from the April Page kit.
Not too overly decorated leaving plenty of room for my scribbles.
I don't decorate every week but when I have some time I use what ever happens to be out on my craft desk and a few bits of stash from my planner bag.

I will be back soon with more inspiration from the April Page kit.
Have you used a page kit to decorate your planner?

April Carpe Diem Planner Pages

Good Morning :)
Today I have some April Planner pages to share.

I am fairly new to planner decorating although I have had a planner for years.
This month I have used some left over paper pieces from the Crafts 4 Eternity April Page kit Just Because along with the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze stamp set and Simple Stories Carpe Diem number stickers.

First up is my month on two pages in my Aqua Carpe Diem Planner.
I use this planner for Crafts 4 Eternity.
The inserts are a free download from PenGems blog
They are a Sunday start which confuse me lol! So I printed 2 sets and moved the Sunday column to the other side.
The original Sunday column is covered with some pretty pattern paper (Refresh).

I used a few of the Kaisercraft collectables to decorate along with stickers from the Sea Breeze sticker sheet (April Add-on kit)

The large flower (bottom center) was cut from the Waterlily pattern paper.

New to me is the concept of decorating the pockets of your planner. This month I have added some of the Kaisercraft Sea Breeze Collectables along with my April calendar card (subscribers gift). The colours of the Sea Breeze collection match my Aqua planner well :)

When I got my Carpe Diem planner I took out all of the inserts it came with, they were just too pretty to use! I hope that they will bring out refills, I might use them then lol!

I will be back soon with a decorated week on two pages from my personal planner.
Are you a planner girl? Leave a link below and share your planner pics :)
Have a lovely day, thanks for stopping by

Just Because - layout

Good morning :)
Today I am sharing a layout using Crafts 4 Eternity's April Page Kit.
The kit is called Just Because and is available HERE.
Included in the kit are gorgeous Kaisercraft products from the Sea Breeze collection.

The layout is called Just Because.
I used a 12x12" white cardstock for the background.
The Waterfall paper was fussy cut to create the borders at the top and bottom of the layout.

I then created a paper cluster for the photo using the remaining papers in the kit.

The kit includes 12 3x4" cards which have some lovely quotes and pretty journalling spaces. I used the story journal card behind my photo just for decoration.

The Waterlily paper is perfect for fussy cutting too. I fussy cut one of the flowers to tuck in to the paper cluster and added a title sticker from the April Add-On kit.

The kit includes a selection of printed die cuts from the collection which are perfect for layering.

I used some of the left over pieces to decorate my planners this month too! I will be back soon to share them :)
Have a wonderful day thanks for stopping by
