PTW- men challenge!

Hello, these are my entries for the Papertake weekly challenge. This week is...MEN!!! Living in a house of "boys" I seem to do a lot of male themed crafting, not that I find it easy to come up with new ideas. Like most crafters, I think men are a challenge, especially if they are not into the typical male themes such as sport!!!
so here is my hubby, the photos were taken on our first holiday together in 2000. We finally got married last year after 7 years together and two beautiful boys.

material list: cardstock from Papermania, pattern pare from QVC kit. I drew the flourish and cut out with a craft knife, fiddly but worth the effort. The hidden journaling tells the story of our holiday... we went to cornwall during the week of the fuel strike in 2000!!!
The card above I posted recently, it was made for my nephews 18th birthday, hard to know what to do for an 18 yr old lad. Materials used: shabby princess digi kit "vintage floral collection" and the frame card tutorial from an earlier PTW challenge.

These ATC's were made with HOTP "boys to men" papers and elements. I really enjoyed the "bugs" set, they suit little boys, especially mine!!
There you go, hope this post gave you a few ideas. Thanks for looking!

ssc wedding challenge

Hello, I finally managed to do the wedding cards for the weekend, just got to post them now!!LOL. I saw that Scrummy Stash cafe were running a wedding themed challenge this week too so here they are....
Yet again I left them to the last minute, raided my stash and was not 100% happy with the results, mum liked them tho!!!LOL
The following pictures are of the wedding stationary from my wedding last September. The complete set included, invites, RSVP's, Order of service (not pictured), poetry book, place cards, napkins, favour boxes, table no's etc. The design was kept simple and classic but took a long time to make them all, hundreds of pearl branches and roses to curls, cards to emboss and ribbon to wrap. We were pleased with the results and got a lot of postitive comments about the whole wedding. I made 5 bridesmaid dresses, my veil and mums shrug as well. There were a lot of late nights last year but totally worth it.

...there you go a wedding post!! hope you enjoyed and maybe got a few ideas too, thanks for looking.

Still catching up!!!

Hello all!

Well here a few more cards that I have done over the last couple of months, there are a lot more but I think that this will do for the catch-up and I will start afresh with my posts.

This card was made for an anniversary in a rush so it didn't really come out too well. I wasn't sure of the papers in this digi kit, not sure I will use them again for a card. The kit is from Raspberry road designs and called "faded memories" I think this kit looks better on screen so I will save it for an actual digi LO.
Another card made in a rush...just shows that you should allow plenty of time...say she who still hasn't done the wedding card for the weekend!!!LOL. The digi kit used was the "promise collection" from shabby princess.
How hard is it to make a card for an 18 yr old lad? Boy did I get in a lather over this one. I used the frame card tutorial for this card again and papers from "vintage floral collection" from shabby princess (again!!LOL) .

My cards have been a bit rushed lately and not up to standard, but thanks to my new project I will have some new stash to play with soon!! I promise to share soon, just not yet!!

I am off to check the challenge blogs and see what I can find, I am going to leave the digi papers alone for awhile time for a change!!LOL

Take care all

It's been awhile!!!

hello...
My goodness it has been awhile! I have been so busy with crafting and my big new project (can't tell yet but will share when I can!) that the time has just flown by...just like looking through photo's, so easy to lose track of time. I have been busy with cards the last few weeks, I seem to have a lot of birthday's and anniversaries in March/April so here are a few of them...

This sweet card was made for my aunt's birthday, she loves the "Flower Fairies" so I couldn't resist this lovely fairy, in my favourite colour...lilac!! The fairy is decoupaged and glittered, which is hard to see in the pic. The papers are a digi download from Pineapple plantation, the "spring pansies" collection. Lovely papers in purples! The ribbon is from my stash.
This card was made to add to my back-up stock of cards. With my big project looming and the family counting on me to keep up with all the birthdays, I needed to stash a few extra cards. So the card has been left blank to alter when I need it. And yes again it is digi papers!!!LOL. I went on a download spree last month and have filled up my laptops memory with digi downloads. This kit is the "promise collection" from Shabby princess. I printed the flowers on to acetate and attached with sticky fixers. Looks a bit plain but I can alter it in a jiffy if I need it.

My hubby's aunt and uncle celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, they had a surprise party which we went to with the kids. This was the first time we had taken Alix out to something like this, he was so well behaved!!! If I hadn't forgotten the nappies we could have stayed longer...shame...I will know next time!!LOL
I made this card for the paper take weekly challenge blog in march, but didn't get it made in time to post it! It was a frame card tutorial (link to the blog is on the sidebar, look in march archives) It was a fantastic card to make the instructions were clear and easy to follow and not too many mistakes!! The materials used are from the same kit for the last card, "promise collection" from shabby princess. Amazing how you can get two very different cards from one kit!
There have been loads more cards since march so I will post a few more next time but not all as I will fall way behind. I have a wedding card to make this week...opps...should go in the post Thursday...better get on with it!!!LOL
take care all
