Use some scraps!

Good morning everyone :)
What a weird week lol! I'm all out of sync with the bank holiday, one child back to school Tuesday the other back Wednesday, gymnastics started back Tuesday, and now it's Friday again lol!
We have a new challenge today on the C4E recipe challenge blog ....

USE SOME SCRAPS!

We would like you to share projects using only scraps, the bits and bobs left over from other projects that you may normally throw away.
Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs who are kindly offering one randomly selected winner 4 images from their fabulous collection.

For my card this week I used up some odd scraps of pattern paper.
I did a Stash Busting day last year and sorted all my paper bits into zip lock bags by colour and size!
Way too organized for me lol!

....and this is what I made a paper patchwork card.
I have a quick tutorial for this on the C4E Cafe blog from tomorrow (Saturday)
So if you would like to use up your left over papers hop over HERE for the tutorial, then enter your project HERE in the challenge!
While your visiting the challenge blog do check out the gorgeous DT inspiration it's great!

I'm teaching at Banwell village hall (North Somerset) this Sunday (27th) it's the C4E all day crop and workshops, this month we are making mixed media eggs, a pop up box card and a layout from this month page kit.
It's going to be messy lol! Love it!
Have a wonderful weekend whatever you are up to
thank-you for stopping by!

With Love sketch card

Good morning :)
Happy Easter everyone!!
I am sharing my DT card for the C4E recipe challenge today.

This weeks challenge is to use the sketch above.

crafts 4 eternity

It's my turn to sponsor the challenge this week and I am offering one randomly selected winner a choice of 3 digital stamps from the C4E collection.

Although the sketch would work for lots of different projects I made a card, I have a lot of events over the next few months that require cards and need to build up my stash.

The DP's are from Fancy Pants Designs Country Boutique collection (6x6 pad)
Beautiful papers!

I kept the design fairly simple using some paper roses (Wild Orchid), cheesecloth, hessian, thread, a mini wood veneer heart (Studio Calico), punched leaves (Martha Stewart), wire curls and flat back gems.

I finished the card off with a simple sentiment so that the card could be used for several events.
If you would like to join us this week hop over HERE to leave your link and check out the gorgeous DT creations!
Please feel free to pin the sketch to use later :)
Have a fabulous weekend!

Easter Art Journaling

Hello :)
A little late with today's post I've spent the day cleaning and tackling our back garden!
We decided to redo the back garden last autumn and started taking it apart but then the rain set in and no one fancied wadding about in all the mud lol! There is a loooong way to go but a start was made and I'm pooped!

Over on the Crafts 4 Eternity challenge blog we have a new challenge ....

EASTER

We would like you to share any Easter themed projects with us.

stamping all day
Our lovely sponsors Stamping All Day are offering one randomly selected winner 3 downloads from their fabulous collection!

My project this week is an Art Journal page.

The eggs were cut freehand from some paper which happened to be on my desk.
I stamped the Gesso prepared page with grey Stazon and a lovely vintage french script stamp.

Coloured over with some Dylusions inks.

Stamped again using a butterfly stamp, script stamp and dotty stamp in black Stazon.
Some random Gesso and pink acrylic paint were added on top along with some Gesso through a stencil.

The 'Easter' alphas were treated to a coat of Crackle paint in old paper and tattered rose.
Lastly I used a charcoal pencil, black fine line pen and white pen to add some depth and detail.

I'd like to enter this journal page into the following fabulous challenges :
A Creative Romance - 2W, 3E - (W1 of 2) - Eggcelent Spring
Alphabet Challenge - 2W, 1E, JFF - (W1 of 2) - E for Easter
Craft for the Craic - M, 5E (First Friday of the month) - April - Something For Easter Or Spring

More fabulous inspiration from the design team and entry to the challenge can be found HERE.
Have a great weekend

Birnbeck Pier mixed media layout

Good morning :)
Last day of term YAY! No school runs for 2 weeks lovely :)
This weeks challenge on the C4E recipe challenge blog is ...

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

We would like you to share any project as long as it is not a card, lots of possibilities there, so why not grab some stash and play along :)
crafty sentiments designs

Our sponsors this week, Crafty Sentiments Designs are offering one randomly selected winner 3 digital images from their fabulous collection.

My project this week is a mixed media layout.
I love experimenting with texture and colour in my projects. This is the first time I used a black ink spray, it was a little scary adding the black but I loved how it turned out :)

The layout is 8.5 x 11". I started by adding modelling paste, chicken wire, washers, flowers, bandages and staples to the cardstock. I usually leave my projects to air dry while I work on another one so when it was dry I covered the whole piece with a coat of Gesso.

When the Gesso was dry it was time to add the colour. I used Dylusions Ink Sprays in Black and London Blue.

The photo was placed on top of a piece of cheesecloth and tracing paper.

A few seed beads, staples and alphas completed the layout.

The photo is of Birnbeck pier a sadly neglected piece of Weston's history.
