Hoot Hoot!!

Hello Happy Monday!
I was in the mood for trying something new the other week and needed a card for my uncle, my first attempt turned out a bit too Teen Rock for a 40 something grown man lol! better for his almost 16 year old son lol!
Here's what I ended up with!
I grabbed the new MME papers which have just come into the store, a pack of crate paper rub-ons from my stash some Bazzill CS, sticky fixers and sharp scissors to create this 3D card.
I love mini cards!! I made this little card for one of my DT girls using some gorgeous MME papers from the Quite Contrary collection. The lovely Tilda has been coloured with Distress inks.
The card itself is cut with a labels nestie.
Have a lovely day thanks for stopping by!

crafts 4 eternity recipe challenge #26

Hello again!
Time for another Recipe challenge from Crafts 4 Eternity!! This week we are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments
Hop over to the C4E Blog HERE to see the challenge details and Fabulous Design Team Gallery!
This weeks recipe is to use the sketch, add some brads and reverse something!!! Each of the girls have reversed something different so there are lots of ideas for you!
So what did I reverse?? I did a technique called REVERSE APPLIQUE!!! I love how techniques used in different crafts such as sewing can be used in cardmaking and scrapbooking. I have been looking at how I can use techniques for making sugar paste flowers could be used to make flowers for papercrafts!
So basically you create a window or frame with what should be the top layer as the second or bottom layer, simples as the meerKat says lol!!
To make the butterfly piece I cut a square of CS cut out a butterfly shape using a stencil then placed onto some PP. I hand stitched around the butterfly, added some hand stiched details to the wings and finished with beads and brads.

The Other pieces were created the same way but machine stitched. The PP in these pieces is flocked and oh so stroke-able!! lol!!
Th PP is the new GCD papers called Homespun Chic I mentioned in the previous post, beautiful papers with flocked sheets, glittered and lacquered! Definitely a tactile collection. Also in the collection and sitting in the stock room are brads, buttons, felt flowers, paper clips and transparent shapes from the collection! Yummy!!
Have a lovely Sunday! Thanks for stopping by

Sweet Mona Lisa

Hello!
Back with another UKS challenge lo!! This was for last weeks weekly challenge. The requirements were to use fabric, old stash and make an embellishment.
The Old stash is some PP and chipboard from an old QVC kit. The Fabric is the flower and felt backing to the photo. This is the lo I got the sewing machine onto!!!! I also did some hand stitching too. It's quite a tactile lo with quite a bit of dimension too!
The sweet little girl is my baby sister, we always called her Mona Lisa still do sometimes lol!!
The flower I made using THIS tutorial. It was a bit fiddly with the satin slipping about and my cutting leaves a lot to be desired, well it did keep moving lol!!!

The button I pinched from the C4E kit stash!!! ssshhhh!!!! lol!!

The chipboard flower at the top is 3 chip pieces layered and finished with a flat back gem. You can just about see my stitching too! don't lok too closely lol!!
I am busy getting ready for the C4E crop on Sunday, paper roses and yummy kits!! I love the doing the crop it's a great day the girls are fabulous!! A lot of hard work but worth the effort, loading and un-loading the car is keeping me fit lol!! Better get some cake!!!! lol!!
Thanks for stopping by take care

Best Mates

Hello!
This layout was done for the UKS House challenge. The requirements were to scraplift and use the theme of friendship. The LO I lifted was "Always" by Davinie Fiero and was in the February issue of Scrapbook Trends. This is the first time I've worked with 8.5 x 11" and love it!! So much so I did a second LO in this size for the weekly challenge lol!
The Photo was taken by my mum and is of my boys on a Uphill hill which is near to where we live. I love the bond between the boys, they miss each other when they are at school but fight like cat and dog when they are together!! lol!! I know these two will always be Best Mates!!!

I wanted to add some texture to the lO so used some felt! I covered some chipboard letter, fiddly!! lol! and added some circles to the top of the lo. The PP is K&co Faded china, the patterns in this collection are quite bold so small pieces seem to work well, unless of course you love big and bold lol!! The Paper pads will be available in the store soon! (when I get 5 mins to add them lol!!)
Thanks for stopping by take care

Snow & Ice

Hello!
These 2 layouts are from the Crafts 4 Eternity February crop last weekend.
The first is very minimal for me! I struggled to resist the urge to add embellishments lol!!
The photos were taken February 09 when we had a day of snow. Mikael was fascinated with the chunks of ice he found.
The photos on the second layout are from the same day and show the boys first snowman!

Snow day has lots of stitching on it, hand cut snowflakes and some flat back gems. The stitched snowflakes were made using the In-Stitch template Cozy Christmas (HERE)
The papers are all from the MME Colourful Christmas collection from (HERE)
