scrummy stash cafe challenge

hello,
Scrummy stash cafe set a Valentine challenge so I thought I'd pop my Valentine cards on. The card from DCM challenge was also for valentine so I've included it again! (mum loved it BTW).

This is the Valentine card for mum and the DCM challenge.

This card was made for my husband. The paper I used was from DCWV black and white stack. I drew the swirls, (must get some stamps!!)
The last one I used a freebie paper pack from 'Papercraft inspirations' iss 25.
I wasn't happy with the look of this card even after adding adhesive heart gems and drawing in some stitching. I ended up turning it into a funny card to make DH laugh, wonder if he did when he opened it this morning, we shall have to wait and see tonight!!!LOL.
So there you go, I wanted to make a mini book for DH and do some ATCs and a LO of our wedding but time has run out. Crop tomorrow night, so I had better clear the room and set the challenge!!
Take care

DCM - Paper pesto sketch challenge

Hello,
This is my card for the Daring cardmakers challenge this week.

Materials used: I printed off papers from the Sun Porch digi collection by Amy Teets from Shabby Princess. Lots of brown ink!! Ribbon and brad from stash.

The flower embellishments were made with stencils and lots of brown ink!! I carried the design on into the inside of the card using the sketch template again.

This card is for my mum for valentine's day. I wanted to send her a card but not use all the usual colours associated with Valentine's. Hope she likes it, I'll pop it through her door tomorrow on the way past.

Take care

Sketch this card #41

Hello,

This is my take on the sketch over at sketch this card.
Materials used: I printed papers, elements and alphas from a freebie download kit (express yourself - Ronna Penner) from shabby princess.
I am really enjoying using these kits both the printed versions and the digi, although my free trial of PSP is running out! Must get a full version.
Again I continued the design into the inside of the card. I hand drew the swirls (loving swirls at the moments!!) took ages but I loved the effect.
Still more to do so off I go
Take care and keep crafting!

papertake challenge - 'Blooming Gorgeous'

Hello
This is my card for the Papertake challenge 'Blooming Gorgeous'

Materials used: All from QVC kit

The photo doesn't show it very well but I added pen drawn stitches to the flowers and glitter glue so that it would twinkle. I have made this for my mum for 'Mother's Day'.

I did the inside of the card different to how I normally do my cards. Usually I use a printed insert, but lately I have been continuing the design into the inside of the card.

I liked using the chipboard flowers on the inside too. I have had this kit for some time but the papers and bits are so pretty it was hard to delve in and use them!!LOL

Off to do the next challenge.
take care and keep crafty!!

crafty makes 01/02/08

Hello!

Busy week this week. I have been preparing for Alix's 2nd birthday. I have made 3 cards for him aswell as some posters for his tea party.

This is the first card I made for him, I thought it might be a little 'old' for him, but it looked ok when I'd finished.

Materials used: square tri-fold card blank, printed digital scrapbooking kit from shabby princess (Express Yourself by Ronna Penner free download kit). I printed elements, alphas and papers and put together this card.

This is the first time I have used a digital kit in this way.

I also made 2 "In the night garden" themed cards.

Materials used: printed pictures, card stock (paper mania) ribbon from stash, punched vellum flowers.

These are the posters for his party:

Not a clear picture, the letters are coloured like "Iggle piggle", the red part is his "blankie" the green was the hedge and the 2 birds are "Tittifers".

"Iggle piggle" and "Upsy daisy"

The final look!

Take care and have a crafty week!

Crafty makes 28/01/08

hello friends,

What have you been up to this week?
I managed a few projects this week.

It was my nephews 1st birthday on friday, i made 2 cards for him.
They are a little different from what I normally make, much simpler in their design.

Materials used: square card blank, paper printed from freebie disk (crafters companion), ribbon from stash, chipboard letters from QVC kit.

Materials used: tri-fold card blank, papers from stash (k&co I think!), buttons and ribbon from paper mania, 'happy birthday' stickers QVC kit, 3d stickers from stash, see d's mini stamp, clear inkpad, brown inkpad, silver embossing powder.

Tecniques used: tearing, distressing, stamping and embossing.

The large number and letters were cut out, stamped using see d's mini stamp and heat embossed. A bit fiddly but worth the effort. The photo does not do it justice.

I managed 2 layouts this week. The 1st in memory of my dad whose birthday it would have been on wednesday. I think there is something missing from the bottom left corner, a subtitle? Anyway, I have put it away and will take another look at it later.

Materials used: papers from DCWV black & white prints stack, buttons and brads from paper mania. Large letters - stencil printed from computer, cut from black card, highlighted with white gel pen.

The 2nd layout has been waiting for a long time to be completed. I loved the photo because I never knew it had been taken, and it is rare to catch Mikael smiling!

Materials used: cardstock from paper mania, pattern paper from stash (creating keepsakes and K&co), accetate overlay printed from my computer, ribbons from stash, chipboard bees from QVC kit.

The journaling is in a little book centre left. I hand wrote the entry but wish I had used the computer now!

No ATC's this week, naughty girl...LOL. I will have to do some soon.

Have a crafty week
